Fourth book in the Last Option Search Team (LOST) series by
Cynthia Eden. Much like the other in the series this book is a dark and intense
romance, but for the first time the other members only make a brief cameo
instead of significant role of the story. Victoria and Wade, it was only a
matter of time before these two happened. From the first book you could tell
Victoria had feelings for Wade but Wade was slow on the uptake it took Victoria
almost dying before Wade realized how much she meant to him. Now that Wade knows
he’s not going to let Victoria go and even though Victoria has strong feelings for
Wade she doesn’t think she deserves him. What she has done in her past is far worse than any of the others and with Wade being an ex-cop she thinks that if
he found out he would turn her in and end up breaking her heart; she would rather not risk it. It’s going to take everything Wade has to
convince her otherwise.
Five years ago a college student disappeared. She was a
beautiful girl with tons of potential and a fiancée. Now her fiancée is engaged
to someone else and wants some closure before he can move on; he hires LOST to
see what they can find. Wade and Victoria are assigned the case and head off to
Georgia to see what they can find. Their sudden appearance and questions about
the missing girl and the disappearance of another female college student starts
a domino effect of events that throws Victoria right in the middle of a serial
killers sights. With everything Victoria’s past is revealed and she finds out
just how much Wade really loves her. I can’t say too much about the story line because so much of
it is the mystery of the missing girls and the whodunit and the fact that it seems Victoria has picked up a stalker. I can and will say this is
one of the best so far. It’s just as intense as Broken, has just as many
twists as Twisted did and is as tormented as Shattered. If you love the series like I do fret not Torn is not the last!
Just when the last two characters are paired up two more people join the team
and possibly, eventually maybe a third too.
What always ties me up about Cynthia Eden’s books are how
real the characters always are. I get so involved in these books the rest of
the world fades away. Overall, this book just adds so much to the series; I
love to savor these to take my time so I don’t miss anything. I really can’t
wait for Taken which I think comes out in November.
