ARC REVIEW Collision Course by Marie Harte

YAY! Lou finally! Book four of Marie Harte's Body Shop Bad Boys, Collision Course. Despite what you might have thought about Lou in the past books, he's not a manwhore. Lou is a ladies man, true, but he likes the courtship. He actually likes relationships, he likes dating and getting to know a woman before sleeping with her. He was raised by a single mom and half a dozen aunts and helped raise all his female cousins and sisters, he knows how to treat a lady. With that being said he never wants to marry or have kids of his own, in his words he's raised enough kids in his lifetime. So it only makes sense that he falls for a single mom, only he doesn't know it, yet. 

 Joey Reeves made a stupid mistake when she was a teenager and her parents never let her live it down. They never forgave her for ruining the plans they had for her but that mistake was also the best thing to ever happen it gave her her son. Joey has spent the last nine years dealing with her parents backhanded compliments and passive aggressiveness, now that she has finally gotten promoted to manager of the flower shop and has a good opportunity to be able to branch out to do weddings she is ready to move out and away from her parents. She also decides it's time for her to start living again, and if that includes dating the gorgeous guy who works for her friend, Del, then so be it. After spending the last nine years trying to apologize to her parents and show them they are wrong about her and being entirely focuses on her son, it's time to focus on her for a change, as long as it doesn't interfere with her son.

Joey's decision to not tell Lou about her son was after some serious thinking, after all she didn't know Lou, she didn't know if it was going to be serious or just casual. It was made in the best interest to her son, to protect her son. After all he didn't need a father, her son has a father who abandoned him before he was born and signed away his legal rights as father. Unfortunately for Joey the same man is back after nine years and wanting to meet his son and make amends. Neither Lou or Joey were looking for serious but it didn't take long before they were head over heels for each other. But between Joey's son and Lou and wanting to be a father, no matter how awesome he is at it, those issues just can't be ignored.

Overall, I love Lou. He is such a Casanova. (Don Juan was a manwhore who slept with every woman and then discarded them; where as Casanova really loved and cared about women who took the time to know them and remained friends with them afterwards.) Joey is a fantastic mom. I am so loving this series each of the guys are different enough to keep you entertained and each of their books unique to their characters. Marie Harte is so good with character development and romance, the sex is pretty hot too. I am crossing my fingers that Heller's book is soon.        

ARC REVIEW Zero to Sixty by Marie Harte

Zero to Sixty book three of Marie Harte's Body Shop Bad Boys series. Mmmm, there is something about big strong silent bearded men. Sam, I knew he was going to steal my heart, he is such a lonely soul even with the love and support from his best friend, Foley, and Foley's mom not to mention the friendships he has forged at Webster's Garage especially now since Foley has found his one and only. Sam has a secret he's been keeping from everyone, he helps rescue strays and find them homes when one dog gets away and finds himself outside a massage studio and gets himself adopted by a woman Sam finds irresistible. Sam uses the dog as an excuse to meet Ivy. Ivy has had it with relationships she's concentrating on her business now but after she meets Sam as much as she wants to convince herself otherwise she's got it bad.

Sam is the bad boy with the soft side and Ivy is the good girl but these opposites have more in common then you may think they both love animals and cheesy sci-fi movies. They both are very shy and reserved around people until they get to know them better. Sam had a difficult childhood and still deals with his manipulative mother, as a result Sam has never felt that he deserves anything good. Ivy shows him he deserves a happy life and so much more without his hateful mother to bring him down.

Overall, this has to be my favorite of the series so far. I feel like I have more in common with these two then the other so far.  

ARC REVIEW Roadside Assistance by Marie Harte

Body Shop Bad Boys book two by Marie Harte. It was funny and cute, I liked it. Foley was a sweetheart if not a little clueless at times and Cyn has her issues but I can emphasize with that. This book has just a little conflict, between Cyn and her insecurities and Sam, the best friend and brother by bond, and his insecurities it was an easy read and you can always count on Marie Harte for a HOT read and this is a hot read.

Foley fell in lust the first time Cyn came over to Murphy's and busted his balls. Seems like the new guy parked the cars in the wrong lot and Cyn the co-owner of the coffee shop next door didn't like her park lot filled with cars that weren't her customers. Foley moved the cars and asked for a date, but Cyn being the ball buster she is turned him down at first. Foley isn't one to give up easily especailly with a knockout like Cyn. She finally gives in but her insecurities thanks to past boyfriends and her own mother have her not believing that a guy like Foley would like a big girl like her. Foley works  hard to try and prove his feeling are genuine and that he likes her exactly the way she is. But it doesn't help that Sam is feeling left out and sabotaging the relationship or the fact that Cyn's mom is continually telling her that she is to fat and she's never be able to keep a man if she's not thin and that she will end up sad and alone and her only way to happiness is to find a husband and make him happy. Cyn is confused and between her own mother and Sam she's at a loss of what to do. Thankfully Foley's mom is awesome.

Overall this was a good book and as much of a screw up that Sam is in this book I'm glad his story is next.

ARC REVIEW Test Drive by Marie Harte

Two years ago Marie Harte released the McCauley Brothers series. I read the last two, Ruining Mr. Perfect and What to do with a Bad boy this book is a spin off of the latter of the two. The characters from Murphy's Garage that were introduced are finally getting their stories. Unfortunately it's been two years and A LOT of book later I didn't remember the characters right of the bat and I felt a little confused with the abundance of character intros in the very first chapter. It's not necessary that you read The McCauley Brothers series, this is a new series and everyone is reintroduced, but it is very obvious that it is a spin off from another series and be warned the majority of the characters are all introduced in the very first chapter rather succinctly. Not that it's a bad thing I just wasn't prepared and felt a little lost at first.

The story was strictly romance, two people who have been spying each other over the bar and have been friends. Not for the lack of trying on Johnny's part he's asked Lara out a dozen times already and she still turns him down. Lara has seen what working your self to the bones just to get by like her parents and has watched repeatedly her sister go from one husband to the next in search of someone to financially take care of them. Lara isn't going to be like that she has a plan and that doesn't include having a man in her life, not even one as hot as Johnny.

Lara's brother-in-law, soon to be ex-brother-in-law, starts to give her sister a hassle about the divorce and says he trusts only Lara (who used to be a CPA until she realized she hated it and for some convoluted reasoning he wants her to deal with the financial aspect of the divorce) especially since the divorce lawyer her sister was sleeping with called quits and was stuck without one. But Lara knows the true motives behind his reasoning which is to get Lara to sleep with him, something he's been trying to do since before her sister and him married. Knowing just what a douche he is Lara sets up the meeting at the bar and asks Johnny to keep an eye out for her in case anything happens. That's how it all starts. From the moment Johnny saved Lara her whole look but don't touch dissolved and as much as she tries Johnny is bound to her. Lara just has to get over her misconception that every man whats to change her and that she will lose her identity and self in a relationship.

Overall, it was a cute romance I enjoyed the characters and story pretty much. I look forward to the rest of the boys getting theirs.
