ARC REVIEW Fallen by Rebecca Zanetti

Deep Ops #2, I enjoyed it, I prefer RAZ romantic suspense. I was looking forward to the straight laced Feb hooking up with the laid back hacker, especially after Taken the in between novella that gives background on Raider it's not a necessary read but it is a good, really good, read. Each book of the series have so far been stand alones. This one just fell shy of expectations it was good it was exciting and Roscoe is still as crazy as ever but it wasn't what I was expecting. I'm not crazy about organized crime, it's not something I usually go out of my way to read but it was still a good 3.5 read.

Raider Tanaka worked the organized crime division in the FBI with his partner who was undercover until his partner is killed and Raider crosses the line with the boss's boss's wife and he finds himself on babysitting duty to Brigid Banaghan, a hacker who was arrested and the government decided to use her talents for good within the HDD specifically for Angus Force and his low budget team of misfits. Angus seems to have a reason for recruiting everyone he did and the way it's playing out everyone is going to get a chance to right their wrong or get their revenge. In Raider's case he's finally going to get the change and going after the guy who killed his partner. Their way into the Irish Boston mob is Brigid's dad. Raider goes in undercover as Brigid's fiance and an up and coming crime lord who is seeking out help with the Boston mob. As per usual nothing ever goes as planned and by the end of the day just about everyone is battered bruised and have a few extra GSW on their medical record.

Brigid and Raider together were good, there was a lot of lying going on. They still fell in bed together and fell in love, even when Brigid thought Raider was lying to her she knew she could still trust him. RAZ is great when it comes to the suspense part of Romantic Suspense she's spot on with the action and she's so easy to read unless you pace yourself you can just zoom right through her books. I look forward to Wolfe's book next.

ARC REVIEW Taken by Rebecca Zanetti

Deep Ops #1.5, Taken is a novella that feels like a full length book, there is so much that happens in it even after finishing it in just over an hour I felt fulfilled. In this book we meet Raider Tanaka's foster family. Raider, whom we met in the first book, is just a side character in this and they use his connections with  Deep Ops to help track down Hunter Holt's (the main character) newly discovered younger brother, Jackson, when he runs off with his teacher and she goes on a robbery and killing spree. Faye Smith is a trained psychiatrist but not a practicing one anymore. Faye, Hunter, and Raider all ended up in the same foster home they all came from abusive parents and after finally ending up with Ms. Annabelle they all ended up good people. Ms. A's newest foster is Hunter's younger brother but before she could tell him about his brother Jackson ran off and Faye, Hunter, and Raider rush off to save his butt.

Faye and Hunter were each others first loves but after Hunter left the Marines and began suffering from PTSD and the death of their other foster brother and the incident that caused Faye to leave her practice everything just fell apart with them. Here they are now working closely together and realizing they could love no other.

Overall, it was a fast paced quick read that really hits the romantic suspense spot. I love the character, I liked seeing Wolfe and his cat, Kat, and Force and that dumb Roscoe, man I love that dog. Force also hints at what Raider is going to be up to in the next book.

ARC REVIEW Hidden by Rebecca Zanetti

Deep Ops #1, Brand new series from Rebecca Zanetti. The Deep Ops or Requisition Force is a new division of Homeland full of misfits and troublemakers, lead by Angus Force and his peculiar GSD, Roscoe. Malcolm West was a detective undercover for a long time burned out and now retired he's ready to just live a quiet life until he meets Pippa his new neighbor and Angus Force offers him a job. Get close to Pippa and find out if she's really a plant from a cult. Force has a source in the cult that says the leader has sent out several woman to act as his angels on judgement day. Mal does it not for Force but for Pippa, there is something about Pippa that draws Mal in that screams she needs protecting. Pippa has been on the run for the last ten years escaped from the cult when she was eighteen now she's a virtual assistant who rarely leaves her house not because she's agoraphobic but because she's scared someone will recognize her and turn her in. The closer Mal gets the deeper his feelings for Pippa get and he knows she's innocent of everything and wants to protect her more than anything but Pippa won't let him.

Overall, it was a great start to a new series it's a great introduction to all the quirky characters and one really weird dog who likes to wear and than chew up high heels, munch on lipstick, and hates argyle patterns. Written in third person POV switching from character to character but not too much it mainly focuses on Pippa and Mal. Very intense at parts broken up with the silliness of the secondary characters. I for one can not wait for Wolfe's story and his little kitten. I can understand why Pippa isn't trusting but she gets very aggravating after a while. Mal is great very protective and a little bit damaged I really liked his character.
