ARC REVIEW Skinny Pants by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

SHE ACCIDENTALLY CATFISHED THE PERFECT GUY.

BUT WILL HE EVER LOVE THE REAL HER?

DR. JACK REED has been through hell. His wife cheated on him, broke his heart, and lied for years. But moving on isn’t easy, and it’s impossible to trust women again. Until he meets Macie, a nurse at his new hospital. There’s something about her honest heart that makes him want to fight to get his life back.

NURSE MACIE FRANKLIN was always known as “the fat girl.” After decades of failed diets, she doesn’t dream of ever being anything but invisible to the opposite sex. One moment of weakness and two glasses of bubbly later, she’s in a steamy online chat with “Dr. J-Love” as the fake, size 8, bubbly Catrina.

Their passionate conversation convinces her it’s time to make big life changes. But when she goes to see Dr. Reed, the new amazing surgeon everyone’s talking about, it’s Dr. J-Love! And he’s way hotter in person.

They hit it off a second time as friends, but now Macie’s heart is at risk of falling hopelessly in love. Will he ever love the real her back?

Last book of the Happy Pants series. MJP stated previously and in the author's notes at the end that she has more new series in line... but I can wait years for one more book if I have too. Lucia's matchmaking hyjinks are legendary and now with Taylor slowly taking over for Lucia she has said Jack Reed will be her last match. But has Lucia taken off more than she can chew with this stubborn but sexy plastic surgeon?
Macie was fine with her life until everything in her life started to point out and make a big deal about her weight. After a wine induced night of stupid mistakes including creating a fake dating profile and meeting Dr. J-Love, a decision she regrets immediately and deletes her profile. Macie is discouraged the fact that her fake profile got so much attention because the skinny model she picked to represent Catrina. Top it all off with the argument she got in with her best friends has Macie reevaluating her life. As a nurse she knows all the problems she can face in her future especially now that she's over 30 and her metabolism is slowing down and it's not like she isn't healthy she eats right and walks every weekend; overall, Macie decides for health reasons she doesn't want to be fat the rest of her life and starts to look into gastric bypass. One of the two surgeons who has to sign off on her surgery is new and apparently very sexy, very professional, and he's also Dr. J-Love.
After learning of his wife's lies and ultimate betrayal Jack wasn't sure he was ready to trust his love with someone else but meeting Macie made him want to try and it's something he wants to do on his own without the help of a magic cookie. Macie automatically assumed Jack friend-zoned her, because why would a guy like Jack want a girl like her. By the time Macie realizes the truth she feels even worse about the whole Catrina thing. As perfect as they seem for each other circumstances just keep getting in the way, maybe they aren't meant for each other after all.
Overall, it's another emotional rollercoaster ride full of humorous situations and fantastic relatable characters. I love when MJP slips in her own books so nonchalantly into other books. She also hits the nail on the head with Macie's emotional battle with her weight and once again we see a love story that focuses on learning to love yourself before you can fully love someone else. I'd put this one in the same category with her other book Fugly, potential ugly cry but such a good book and a happy ending.

ARC REVIEW Leather Pants by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Leather Pants

Book #2 of the Happy Pants Cafe Series

by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

From New York Times Bestseller, Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, Comes Book #2 of The Happy Pants Cafe Series It Only Takes One Hot Rock Star To Ruin Your Life…   The youngest woman to ever sit on the bench, the Honorable Sarah Rae Alma has busted her butt to get where she is. No fun. No distractions. And definitely no bad boys. In fact, she takes a certain pleasure in crushing their souls—yes, she has her reasons.   So when rock-n-roll’s most famous bad boy, the legendary Colton Young, enters her court, looking hotter than sin and smugger than hell, she’s just itching to serve a little justice.   But Sarah’s about to make the biggest mistake of her life. And her fate will land squarely in the hands of the world’s most notorious rock star rebel.   Will he crush her? Or will he tempt her to take a walk on the wild side?

This book is proof that Mimi Jean Pamifiloff can write her interpretation of the phonebook and make it entertaining. I don't usually enjoy reading Rock Star romance tropes but once again Mimi Jean has make something I don't usually enjoy it into an enjoyable read. Her style of writing is always so full of humor and romance that it makes the angst more palatable, for me atleast to much angst and it depresses the fuck out me. But Mimi doesn't do that she has perfectly balanced books.

Colt Young is very drool worthy. He comes off as an arrogant bastard (like most of her other heroes) but always (like the others) shows another side that makes him so swoon worthy and makes him so much more than he seems. Sarah is head strong and focused on her career aptly nicknamed The Hammer; as a judge she is fully dedicated to serving justice when it needs. That is until bad boy heartthrob rock star Colt Young steps foot into her courtroom with his tattooed arms, his devil may care attitude, and leather pants....leather pants that Sarah can not stop looking at!

Colt and Sarah are forced into a situation that is beyond their control and in the process they come to care for each other very much. They learn about each other and fall in love with the person that they hide from the public eye. Throw in Mrs. Lucia and her magic Happy Pants cookie and it's a wonderful whatever can go wrong will go wrong story. Overall, it's almost as good as the original story. You can practically laugh your way through this book.

REPOST: ARC REVIEW Tailored for Trouble by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

I am such a Mimi Jean Fangirl. I tried to wait to read this one but yeah that wasn't happening. The prequel book of this series is called Happy Pants Cafe, I love that book. It is a delightful funny piece of fluff it makes me smile the book makes me happy when I read it. And so when Mimi announced she was writing more I squealed.

Tailored for Trouble is not quite the light happy go-lucky fluff piece that Happy Pants is, it has a little bit more emotional heartache, but still a beautiful, funny, and a quintessentially Mimi story.
Mr.Wade...swoon! A love/hate billionaire romance about redemption.

This was an emotional and very amusing journey between two people falling in love in the span of a week. Taylor Reed considers herself the underachiever of the family. The daughter of famous race car driver and an actress the youngest of four and the only girl and the only one who isn't settled and successful in her chosen career in fact she has no career. She knows what she wants to do she wants to change the world one stuck up CEO at a time. she created a program that helps bring the CEOs down to earth and have it easier relate to their employees and have less of a turn over rate. Unfortunately no one wants to hire her, except the man who got her fired from her last job. Is the lure of fifty thousand enough to get her to work for the pompous man who always seems to find the right nerve to step on.

Bennett Wade is set in his ways and knows what he wants and will not rest until he gets it and if that means manipulating people than by all means he will. Taylor is a surprise Bennet needs her more than he wants to admit and more than he realizes. But can Taylor forgive Bennett for everything? Does he want her too? Does he even deserve her forgiveness? Can Mrs. Luci magic cookie help, even them?

Overall, this is yet another winner from Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. With every book I have a new favorite and really look forward to reading the next two in the series.
