ARC REVIEW Digging A Hole by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Digging A Hole

Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Synopsis:
From New York Times Bestseller, Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, comes a new Romantic Comedy. He’s the meanest boss ever. She’s the sweet shy intern. They’re about to wreck each other crazy. My name is Sydney Lucas. I am smart, deathly shy, and one hundred percent determined to make my own way in the world. Which is why I jumped at the chance to intern for Mr. Nick Brooks despite his reputation. After ten failed interviews at other companies, he was the only one offering. Plus, everyone says he knows his stuff, and surely a man as stunningly handsome as him can’t be “the devil incarnate,” right? Wrong. Oh…that man. That freakin’ man has got to go! I’ve been on the job one week, and he’s insulted my mother, wardrobe shamed me, and managed to make me cry. Twice. Underneath that stone-cold, beautiful face is the evilest human being ever. But I’m not going to quit. Oh no. For once in my life, I’ve got to make a stand. Only, every time I open my mouth, I can’t quite seem to muster the courage. Perhaps my revenge needs to come in another form: destroying him quietly. Because I’ve got a secret. I’m not really just an intern, and Sydney Lucas isn’t my real name.

Once again Mimi Jean Pamfiloff astounds and entertains with her quirky heroines and plots that keep you guessing when you are not ROTFLYourAO. Book three in the OHellNo series continues with a book that can be read as a standalone unless you like to know the backstories of everyone in which case at least read Oh Henry. It's revealed pretty early in the book that Sydney Lucas is really Georgie Walton the youngest child in the Walton empire. She's doing this to prove to everyone that she isn't fragile and needs to be coddled. Her plan is to grow a backbone, learn something that will impress her siblings and prove to them that she can be strong enough to run the company with them. Her best friend gets her a job in one of her own companies as an assistant to the worst boss ever. Now all she has to do is stand up to him and not fall in love with him.

This book really does take you on a wild ride, there you are driving along peacefully thinking things are going just fine then suddenly Mimi (the driver) takes a wild 90 degree turn out of nowhere and you are nowhere where you thought you would be and you loved every second of it. But that's how it is with most her books you jump into the book knowing it's going to be wild and newbies to her work either jump on the Mimi train or run away screaming. So, like Scar in Lion King said, Be Prepared.

Overall, I think it's safe to say I loved this book. Nick and Sydney it's an emotional and angsty but at the same time it has you laughing book. For those who have read Oh Henry it does explain what happened when the Walton family went missing. This was a must read for me but then I do have my own car on the Mimi Train.
