ARC REVIEW: SEAL Team Six Hunt the Fox by Don Mann and Ralph Pezzullo

Book Five of Seal Team Six. Thomas Crocker is back and in a race against time and the terrorist known as the Fox. Unlike the other books this one wasn't as high intensity and edge of your seat. Was it good? Hell yes, just not quite as good as the last book. Don Mann and Ralph Pezzullo as always bring you into the SEAL Team Six team takes you on a wild ride with the emotional side that humanizes the soldiers and gives an insight on to why Tom makes the decisions he does.

Months after the incident in Mexico, Tom and the rest of his team are ready to jump back in and get back to work. Their first mission is a doozy. They have received pictures of sarin canisters being kept in Syria they must now extract without the knowledge of ISIS or the FSA. But it all goes a little too smoothly aside from having to take a detour and taking on extra passengers, refugees from the Syrian civil war and Tom having to help a woman give birth. Once they get to safety the sarin goes missing along with the contact who leads them to the sarin. Not willing to walk away from the FUBAR situation Tom and his team help the local government try and track down the sarin but it soon pops up as the terrorist hijacked a Disney cruise liner.

All the while Tom deals with saving the day with his team he tries to deal with personal problems of his wife being fed up with being married to a Navy SEAL. During the whole book Tom goes back and remembers time with his wife the first time they met and when he fell in love to more recent ones of them meeting with a therapist, and in the end he knows what he should do. He is also still dealing with the traumatic last mission.

This is a must read for followers of the series it's not to be missed. It's not good as the last book but by no means bad, it was riveting and intense it's what I expect from a SEAL Team Six series.

ARC REVIEW Ryder: Bird of Prey by Nick Pengelley

Book Three in the Ayesha Ryder series. Ryder Bird of Prey is about the search of the Maltese Falcon and the lost sword of King Harold II. Requesting this book from Netgalley was a mistake I thought I could just jump in and start off at book three. I miss some character development and background. I didn't much care for the characters it's an uneven blend of Lara Croft, Indiana Jones and James Bond. I think the saving grace for this book was the action.

On the search for the maltese falcon Ayesha and mysterious librarian Joram Tate. When they find it it leads them on another chase for the lost sword of King Harold II. Which they must find before the British Prime Minister is usurped and the replacement who plans to break the United Kingdom apart. It's a twisty and turny story with lots a back stories that throws me off because just about every chapter begins with a dream or a flashback and I don't know it it was just the ARC formating but it was difficult to tell the difference from them when it starts and ends. The endings so called twist just made me roll my eyes.

I had a hard time just getting through this book. What caught my eye was the comparison to James Rollins, and I am a big fan of James Rollins, but no I would not compare this to James Rollins. The old Indiana Jones novels maybe but not Rollins. This book leaves an opening for book four but I think I'll pass.  

ARC REVIEW Her Wild Hero by Paige Tyler

Book three of Paige Tyler's X-OPS series, Her Wild Hero is a continuing story arc. It is not pertinent that you read the first two, it's helpful I think just for background information on the arc and some character info but everything you need to know is very well placed. I love shifter books especially when they are secondary to the storyline. I loved this story it's almost non-stop action. Great characters Declan and Kendra along with the other members of the X-Ops team are fantastic to follow on this hectic adventure. Paige Tyler really has made a fan of me.

Kendra Carlsen after the events previously has been itching to get out into the field. Finally she is getting the chance it is just suppose to be a training exercise but still getting out in the field with a team is better than nothing.
Declan MacBride is a bear shifter and he really doesn't like it, he keeps that side of him closed off as much as possible because he is scared of the monster he might become. Being with Covert Ops is his only outlet for his bear self.

SNAFU! Of epic proportions. A week in the Costa Rican rain forest, it's a training op they said, it'll be easy they said, it's field experience they said. They always say but it never is. Declan feels that something is wrong, he knows someone is following them they never expected it to be the vicious hybrid shifters. The group gets separated and Declan is charged with one task Keep Kendra Alive, not that he has to be told to do that he has been crushing on her for the last eight years and just when he thought he was finally over her they get caught in this shit storm. Kendra isn't a pushover she can hold her own just fine. Together Declan and Kendra hide and fight off the hybrids alone. Kendra realizes along the way that everything she has been looking for in a guy is embodied in Declan. But with Declan's past and his own personal demons can they survive this.

LOVE LOVE LOVE will read previous ones and all future ones!

REVIEW Against the Sky by Kat Martin

I LOVE THE BRODIES OF ALASKA!!!! 

As always Kat Martin writes an exciting adventure and romance. Against the Sky is book two of the Brodies of Alaska series; this one follows Nick Brodie retired Anchorage Police Detective former Army Ranger and pet grooming marketing director Samantha Hollis. Your standard opposites attract, strangers in the night, lust at first sight, I say standard but nothing Kat Martin does is standard this is another example of her brilliance. I loved the characters both the main and the second tier. Nick and Samantha are opposites; Samantha a city girl and Nick the rugged manly man but they are exactly what they need in each other.

Bored with nothing to do now that he is retired Nick takes on some private security detail for a friend; it's an easy job and less stressful than being a cop. In need of a distraction Nick's brothers make him take a vacation a little time in Vegas can do the body and mind good. While their Nick saves a woman from a drunks unwanted advances. Samantha is in Vegas for a pet store convention and isn't looking to make it anything but business but when the tall, blond and gorgeous Nick scares off the unwanted advances of another guest he convinces her otherwise. After keeping it strictly platonic their last night in Vegas they give in and make the last night the night to remember always. Three weeks later Samantha feels completely different about it because now she is pregnant. Unsure about what to do she just planned on contacting Nick and getting a feel for how he would react what she got was an invitation to Alaska. 

Nick has been unable to stop thinking about Samantha so on a whim he invites her to spend time with him in Alaska. What was supposed to be a nice two week vacation turned into an exciting adventure investigating the death of his neighbor at the insistence of his the man's son and that turns into tracking down and exposing a drug ring and an underage white slavery ring run by some Russian Mobsters. With the help of Nick's best friend, brother and more they manage to make a mess of an FBI undercover operation and expose the mole. Nick and Samantha fumble through their problems and fall in love but can they work through their differences for a HEA? I loved it, very page turning action and steamy romance.
