ARC REVIEW The Intended Victim by Alexandra Ivy

The Intended Victim (The Agency #4)The Agency #4, A standalone, the main characters in this one is brother to the main character in the previous book but that is where the connection ends. Ash Marcel was a Chicago PD Detective until his partner mysteriously disappeared, with the amount of blood left at the scene they all assumed he was dead, and his relationship to his partner's daughter/fiancee ended, now he's a professor. Five years ago Chicago was plagued by a serial killer the press named The Butcher, but after an unsuccessful attack on Remi Walsh and the disappearance/death of her father the murders stopped. Remi was never the same after that. Now, five years later Ash's brother Chicago PD Detective Jax Marcel walks into this classroom telling him The Butcher is back and Remi is dead, only it's not Remi she just looks almost identical to her.

Ash knows it's only a matter of time before The Butcher goes after Remi again and figures he's the best person to protect her. Not just because she's in danger and she's the daughter of his old partner but because he still loves her. Remi still loves Ash also but she's worried things won't go back to the way they were. As Ash and Remi dig into the old files and try to figure out what they missed all those years ago Jax investigates the recent murders.

Overall, it was a great read. It was an intense and interesting read with a good mystery and a nice second chance romance. I really liked Ash and Remi they are a good pair. I do hope Jax is next to get his own story.

ARC REVIEW You WIll Suffer by Alexandra Ivy

You Will Suffer (The Agency, #3) The Agency #3, Each book in this series is a stand alone. More suspense than romance but both equally balanced throughout the story. A story of a small town lawyer, Ellie Guthrie, and former FBI agent, Nate Marcel, working together to unravel the dirty secrets of their town Curry, Oklahoma. Ellie went against her parents wishes and settled in the small town she spent part of her childhood in; Nate after leaving the FBI got in his truck and just started to drive he ended up in Curry started ranching and woodwork. Nate was already living in Curry when Ellie moved back to her old home; Ellie was attracted to Nate from the get go but something about him told her he was an all or nothing kind of guy, and not wanting to settle down with anything other than work she tried her best to ignore her sexy neighbor. That is until weird stuff started to happen.

It started with a weird feeling and then slashed tires and escalated to dead animals outside her work. She wasn't the only target another woman in town, Mandy, was the victim of what seemed like normal vandalizm. But the first dead body shows up a supposed drug overdose and then Mandy ends up the same way not even a full day later. Ellie and Nate both know something else is happening but the local sheriff is lazy and easily accepts that it's a drug overdose. Things start to go sideways when the dead body of a known dealer is found in a building that Nate just bought. Now the narrow minded sheriff thinks Nate is behind it all. Good thing Nate has a good lawyer. Despite it all it doesn't slow Ellie down trying to figure out what's happening and why she's being targeted along with her father and other prominent figures in town.

Overall, it was a really good read. I loved the ending it was a nice twist. The suspense kept me guessing the whole way the pacing was good it had a nice flow one event to another with enough down time for Nate and Ellie to fallin love. I liked Nate and Ellie together. I love it when the guy is already halfway in love with the woman and she just needs to be shown how much and that it's okay to fall in love back. For Ellie the attraction and the feelings are there she just never had a good example of a happy couple and Nate is fully prepared to show her what one looks like and his entire family embraces her into their fold.

ARC REVIEW Lord Carlton's Courtship by Alexandra Ivy

Lord Carlton's CourtshipOriginally published in 2000 under the name Debbie Raleigh, Alexandra Ivy has re-released this with a beautiful new cover. I enjoyed this one, it's not one of my favorites I think I prefer her PNR but it was a good read. The story was well written and I liked the way it played out. I liked the characters too, even though Roma did get annoyingly stubborn at one point.

All it took was one meeting with Roma Allendyle for Lord Giles Carlton to be completely besotted and one conversation to fall head over heels. But Roma isn't looking for a husband she looking for her missing brother and only after Carlton points out that as a woman she will get  no information of anyone in the Home Office does she finally give in and let Carlton help her; that by no way means she going to stop looking herself. It bugs Roma that Carlton is helping her, she can't figure out his motive and the fact that he can find out information about her brother because he's a man really bugs her. Roma also keeps getting distracted by how handsome he is and why out of all the women in London he wishes to be with her a head strong, intelligent, country girl who hates London. She can't seem to realize Carlton's helping her is also his way or courting her too.

Overall, it's an quick (unless you are constantly distracted by your kids like I was) and easy read. I loved the characters and the action was pretty intense there at the end. It's a worthwhile read. I really loved the atypical courtship between Carlton and Roma.

ARC REVIEW What Are You Afraid Of? by Alexandra Ivy

The Agency #2, Another great romantic suspense from Alexandra Ivy. What Are You Afraid Of? is book two of  The Agency series which can be read as a stand alone. Griffin Archer sexy computer geek, software programmer, millionaire and delicate looking but tough journalist Carmen Jacobs whose claim to fame is her true crime non fiction Heart of the Predator in which she interviewed five serial killers and went over their cases. Carmen is on a well deserved break from her book tour in an isolated cabin in the woods. No one is suppose to know where she is and her publisher isn't suppose to forward any mail but that doesn't stop them a large brown envelope appears on her doorstep and as much as she want to ignore it she is curious by nature and opens it. Inside she finds fightenly familiar pictures, pictures so similar to the first serial killer in her book, but it couldn't be him he was already dead. When the local police won't take her seriously she knew of one person who could help her as long as he still didn't hate her.

Griffin knew Carmen was in trouble the moment he saw her, if her constant attempts to call him wasn't a dead giveaway her pale complexion and the terrified look on her face was. After the way they parted company the last time he knew it must be serious if she asking for his help, but even after she explains there might be a copycat killer out there he still was hesitant to help her. It's not until after she leaves to continue on her own does he realize that another thing the victim all have in common, they all look like Carmen. Griffin gives a friend at the FBI a heads up about what happening, and he starts checking things on his own. It escalates when Carmen receives a bouquet of flowers with an old nickname on them. Griffin thinks this is more personal than even Carmen realizes and starts asking questions about her past and the murder suicide of her parents.

The relationship between Carmen and Griffin starts off rocky. When they first met, in events before the book starts back when Carmen was still in the process of writing her book, she wanted to interview Griffin because he wrote the program that assisted the police in apprehending on of the serial killers she was writing about but he wouldn't do it. Carmen managed a "chance" meeting and they got close but then Griffin found out who she was it didn't end nicely. Despite all that Griffin is still insanely attracted to Carmen and when he realizes she is the focus of the copycat his protective instincts kicks into overdrive. Griffin is willing to do anything to protect Carmen catch the copycat and prove to Carmen he's worth the risk of loving.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one it really hit the spot. I like Ivy's writing, she does fantastic with the suspense and the whodunnit, she kept me guessing. She always transports me into the story and I just can't put it down.

ARC REVIEW Pretend You're Safe by Alexandra Ivy

Pretend You're Safe is the first book in the new series The Agency. Alexandra Ivy spun a web of misdirection, she had me second guessing my second guesses, although the red herring was fairly obvious. This was a great first book for the series it introduces you to the characters and sets it up for more. It has some really good suspense but it's not very dark. This book really hooked it me it was hard to put this one down.

Jaci started to receive creepy little tokens when she was a teenager, but no one believed that these lockets meant anything bad. They finally stopped when she left for college and didn't start up again when she returned to her grandparents farmhouse. Jaci has successfully started her own bakery business, baking for local restaurants and cafes. This year the rains have been particularly bad, constant enough to start flooding the river and with the flooding comes the appearance of dead bodies.

Rylan is back in town to help his father with the house after the basement got flooded. He left to go to college and then go into the FBI but in college he met Baldwin and together they created a new program for security systems and made a butt load of money and started their own business. At the time Rylan didn't take the lockets Jaci was getting seriously, when she approached him he was working deputy and thought it was just her looking for attention; he had no idea that this went on for years. The appearance of the Jane Doe also brings a new locket on the door. Rylan understand his mistake and isn't going to make it again, he has an overwhelming urge to protect Jaci at all costs. But Rylan showing interest in Jaci makes the stalker escalate and starts kidnapping woman and leaving the bodies where Rylan can find them. Rylan and the Sheriff are forced to work together to track down the serial killer before he gets to Jaci.

Jaci and Rylan, I liked that romance. Jaci always had a crush on Rylan and Rylan always liked Jaci but she was too young for him; now that they are adults Rylan finally admits Jaci is the one. Once it becomes obvious where things are going they just sort of accept it, Jaci knows she can trust Rylan and that he will protect her. The only thing she is not sure if he's going to stay or go back to California when all this is over.

Overall, this was another great one by Alexandra Ivy.

ARC REVIEW Kill Without Shame by Alexandra Ivy

Ooooo Book two in Alexandra Ivy's new ARES Security series. Really good suspense and a wonderful romance, I'm a sucker for second chance romance. Mia was just the gardener's daughter but to Lucas she was so much more. She's the one who got away and Lucas never stopped loving her or looking out for her. Lucas never thought he was worthy enough for her and knew she would never forgive him after the way he left and he thought she had every right to hate him. Mia tried to forget Lucas, she made herself believe she was over him, but as much as she wanted to rush back into his arms when he showed up out of the blue her heart still hurt so much from when he left. She doesn't want to open herself up for that kind pain again.

The men of ARES Security are still trying to find out who is sending threats and stalking Hauk but then Lucas gets waylaid by the murder of an old school friend, Tony, who came all the way to Houston from Shreveport to see Lucas. In the dead man's front pocket was a picture of Mia, Lucas' high school girlfriend, on the back of the picture were the words "Kill her or else". Local PD be damned Lucas rushes off to Shreveport to protect Mia whether she likes it or not and get to the bottom of why someone would want her dead. Mia and Tony were best friends, she always had his back and until recently he worked part time for her landscaping company but after getting busted for drugs she had to let him go. Mia took over her father's landscaping business and turned it into a thriving and successful business; Mia was well on her way of achieving her dreams.

Tony's death sends everything into a spiral, Lucas comes back to a place he said he would never return to but Mia's life is in danger and he will stop at nothing to protect her and find out what is really going on. Mia swears she's over Lucas and tries to keep him at a distance but at every step he's there and this time he's not leaving when it's all over. The truth about the past and why he left finally comes out and Mia is astounded. Lucas stirs up a hornet's nest and with the help of ARES Security they find out the truth about the many secrets Tony was keeping. Lucas and Mia fall deeper in love with the people they have grown up to be.

Overall, the conclusion is outstanding and it was a great story. I really liked Lucas. I look forward to Teagan and Hauk's story.

ARC REVIEW Buried and Shadowed by Alexandra Ivy & Carrie Ann Ryan

A brilliant series by two fantastic storytellers. Buried and Shadowed continues the overall story of the Branded and Unseen shifters after the world epidemic forced to bring the shifters out of hiding and basically into reservation style internment camps. The SAU forcing the cats, the bears and the wolves to live together hoping that they will destroy each other. Instead they join forces to take down the SAU and reveal to the world the truth of the Verona Virus.

Buried is Carrie Ann Ryan's light menage, it's a menage but it doesn't go into graphic erotic detail between the three of them. (If you want that read Ink Enduring, damn!)  Here we have the Ursine Packs Foreseer Oliver, the submissive wolf Mandy and, Gibson the tattoo artist who is on the verge of something massive. Carrie Ann Ryan is brilliant when it comes to building tension, both sexual and conflict. Her narration and dialogue together create a sense of foreboding that ties you up into the story. She emotionally pulls you in so you find yourself holding your breathe or crying out when something happens you totally were not expecting.

Oliver as the foreseer believes he will never be able to claim his mate; his visions take too much out of him, his visions are slowly killing him. Even knowing Gibson and Mandy are both potential mates he tries to keep clear of them. Gibson keeps to himself and because he feels sympathy for his Alpha who takes on the pain of his pack members when he is forced to brand them Gibson feels like he doing his part by tattooing them making the brand their own. As a submissive wolf Mandy never really though her role in the pack was very important, but her ability to soothe and calm comes in handy more than once and once Gibson comes to his true potential he will need her and Oliver more than he ever realized. But the SAU isn't the only threat to them as Oliver's visions lead him to believe something sinister is coming from inside their own walls.

Shadowed is Alexandra Ivy's, my favorite of her's so far. The Unseen are the shifters who managed to escape the round up and containment. Their goal has been to infiltrate and destroy the SAU fromt he inside and reveal all their dirty secrets and lies. Sinclair has managed to do so they are now just waiting on the final piece of the puzzle before they go public. The whole time Sinclair has worked with someone on the inside, someone with the ability to hack into the CDC computers and leak information to the Unseen about the true origins of the Verona Virus. Mira knows Sinclair has been using her from the start, she doesn't have a problem with it she believes in their cause and she is in love with Sinclair. But now so close to the end of it all Mira goes missing and Sinclair won't stop until he finds her. Mira has discovered for more than Sinclair hoped and together they can tear down the SAU and free all the Branded packs.

Overall, this is probably my favorite of the series so far. Shadowed is very intense. Buried is well damn.

ARC REVIEW Blood Lust by Alexandra Ivy

Book three to Alexandra Ivy's Sentinel series Blood Lust follows Bas and his adorable daughter Molly (whom we meet in the last book). Waiting a year for each book is worth the wait, this is one of those series I keep on eye out for, I stalk Netgalley and Facebook for any information the newest book. Bas was just dark and mysterious enough in Blood Assassin to make my anticipation for this book pretty intense. It was worth it.

Bas was raised an assassin, trained not like the others but more lethal than his sentinel counterparts. Bas had a difference of opinion with The Mage, Lana, a former friend and lover and was cast out of the high blood society. Bas is willing to go to any lengths to get what he wants and he succeeds in business but five years ago he met an irresistible young woman had one glorious night with her; he was willing to give her everything only to find her missing the next morning. Nine months later there is a baby girl on his doorstep. Bas assumed the worst about Myst and never expects to see her again.

Unbeknownst to Bas during Molly's kidnapping she was so scared she reached out to her mother and found her since then they have been in telepathic contact. Myst knowing her daughter needs her returns but trouble follows Myst where ever she goes that is why she stayed gone for so long. Myst finally confides the truth to Bas of why she disappeared and why she left Molly behind. Bas does the only thing he can to keep Myst and Molly safe he calls in Lana and the Sentinels for help.

Overall, this was a great read. I love Bas and Myst together they compliment each other well and Molly is such an adorable.

ARC REVIEW Kill without Mercy by Alexandra Ivy

Another exciting book from Alexandra Ivy Kill without Mercy is the start of a new series Ares Security.

From the hellhole of a Taliban prison to sweet freedom, five brave military heroes have made it home—and they’re ready to take on the civilian missions no one else can. Individually they’re intimidating. Together they’re invincible. They’re the men of ARES Security.

Each man with different backgrounds, personalities, talents, and specialties in different fields have been bonded together through trauma. I have great hopes for this series, each of the guys when introduced you almost immediately sympathize with them. They are protective of each other and would do anything for each other. Rafe Vargas is the heart of the group, he is the one that brought them all together with the idea of starting their own company. This band of men is the only family Rafe has ever really had. He had loving parents but his grandfather disowned his father for joining the ARMY. The old man is dead now leaving Rafe everything he had, which was a whole lotta nothing; the man was a hoarder. Either way Rafe still had to go and clean out the house before the realtor can sell it.

Annie White never wanted to return home but she has been having dreams that scare her, dreams that tell her woman have been disappearing again and being murdered. As impossible as it sounds because the manner of which they have been taken is the same as the Newton Slayer and that man has been dead for years. Annie returns afraid of what she might find, hoping that they are just dreams; she never expected her dreams be to true and to be swept of her feet by Rafe. Rafe fell hard and fast for the pretty honey blonde woman, a woman who needed to be saved from her past and her present; a woman with a past even she didn't know about. Rafe together with his Ares brothers help save Annie and expose the truth.

Overall, this is typical fantastic Alexandra Ivy.

ARC REVIEW Abandoned and Unseen by Alexandra Ivy and Carrie Ann Ryan

Alexandra Ivy and Carrie Ann Ryan have done it again. It even surpasses the first book. If you love Alexandra Ivy and Carrie Ann Ryan then this is perfect, between the two of them it's an exciting paranormal adventure.

Abandoned is about a Mama Bear protecting her her cubs, literally not figuratively. Anya Tucker is the proud mother of twin boys. The boys are curious and adventuresome and ever since they were forced to move in to the compound with the cats and the wolves they have been exploring and getting into trouble. They have been fascinated with playing with one cat in particular. Cole McDermott is one of the trackers of the wild cat pack, Anya sees him as nothing but a lazy good for nothing cat, but that's just because she feels things for him she really doesn't want to feel. Cole likes playing with the cubs but understands Anya's worry about the boys playing in an area they don't know yet.

The boys father was a human doctor who convinced Anya he was in love with her, only to abandon her after she got pregnant. Anya and Cole leave the compound to track down her sons before something really bad happens. Anya also finally admits there could be something between her and Cole but will they find the boys before it's to late and can Anya survive without them.

Unseen, out in the real world unbranded and uncollared this group is working behind the scenes and undercover inside the SAU to bring them down from the inside. They say never mess with someone who has nothing else to lose. Nicole Bradley has nothing left to lose and is willing to risk her life to find the man responsible for murdering her toddler son. Escaping from the compound was easy finding the secret SAU headquarters was easy, getting past the big polar bear shifter is another matter. Tucker Stone recognizes Nicole for who she is almost immediately, his mate. Now he is trying to help her find the SAU guard without compromising the Unseen's ultimate goal.

Things never go as planned with the disappearance of one of the doctors the SAU is purging their systems and the Unseen have to hid their trail and Nicole is able to find the man. Now Nicole must decide what she wants more vengeance or the exposure of how evil the SAU is to the world.

Overall, this dark paranormal is great reading, erotic and exciting.

ARC REVIEW On The Hunt

On the Hunt is a collection of four novellas by Alexandra Ivy, Rebecca Zanetti, Dianne Duvall, and Hannah Jayne. All the stories have the same theme of hunting or being hunted. I loved three out of four of these the last one just isn't my cup of tea, I really didn't like anything about it.

On the Hunt: Alexandra Ivy

An in between novella for the Sentinel series. Mika has always loved Bailey. But for reasons of her own, aside being very head strong, parts ways from Mika. Years later Mika is tracking down a boy and it leads him straight to Bailey's front door. After all those years no matter how hard she tried Bailey could not forget Mika and her love for him and his sudden reappearance is doing things to her head. When the runaway boy leads Bailey into a trap by a psycho looking to live forever Mika is her only hope and she knows it's only a matter of time before he does.

I love this series and I am always happy to see another HEA to come out of the universe. On the Hunt is an action packed and feel good romance. I love a good second chance romance.

SCORPIUS RISING: Rebecca Zanetti

Disregard what the the goodreads.com blurb it is very wrong, the only thing right is their is a strange pandemic going on and it's not killing everyone but mutating some. Nora Mendina just started her well deserved vacation when a bunch of government agents basically kidnap her. The man behind it is her ex-husband Deacan MacDougall. Deacan has very much changed since she left the damaged military man she once knew the only thing that hasn't changed was his feeling for her. Unfortunately getting back together wasn't the reason for her abduction. A meteorite landed in the Nevada desert and the group of students who found it got sick with some kind of alien bacteria. As one of the world's leading Microbiologist and her best friend the are racing to find a cure. While trying to find a cure her assistant is contaminated and goes crazy and starts spreading the bacteria. Deacan is determined to stop the pandemic and convince Nora she still loves him.

I loved this story it was a brilliant beginning to the new series. It's exciting and romantic, and so in depth detail wise. It reminded me a little of The Andromeda Strain mixed with Fated. Great story I can't wait for more

PHANTOM EMBRACE: Dianne Duvall

Yuri Sokolov has lived a long time as one of the Immortal Guardians, and as such he has special abilities even when he was human he could see and talk to ghosts. Cat Seddon haunts the home of the Immortal Guardians, her brother is the only connection she had to the mortal plain and since he's an Immortal Guardian that's where she stays. Cat has become fascinated with one of the Russian guardians, she follows him and watches him, never knowing that he could see her too until one day he spoke to her. From them on out they created a close friendship than soon developed into something more. They even found a way to visit each other in Yuri's dreams. But with dangers unbounding against the immortals and Yuri getting more reckless. Cat is afraid he is injuring himself on purpose, he is but not for the reason she thinks. The more injured he is the longer his healing sleep is the more time her has with her.

This was a very bitter sweet one for me to read. It takes place before and during Night Unbound and if you've read it, you know what happens to Yuri at the end of the book. The entire thing made me want to cry it is such a sweet and romantic story that doesn't seem like it should have a happy ending, but it had me crying like crazy.

STAKE OUT: Hannah Jayne

Unlike the rest of the Underworld Detection Agency, this one is told from Nina's point of view. Nina has made her break in the fashion world and is now getting rest for Fashion Week in New York. Until some pretty stiff competition shows up and starts showing up Nina. Next thing she know the model she just fired for hitting on her boyfriend winds up dead in her studio, and then undead and running amok and changing the rest of the models. Nina, her photographer boyfriend, and her nephew try and track down the bite happy model and find out who is behind it all before it ruins Fashion Week and her career.

I just didn't like this one. I didn't like Nina or any of the other characters, the story seemed bland nothing about it really stuck out to me as special. It just isn't my personal preference.

ARC REVIEW Stolen and Forgiven by Alexandra Ivy and Carrie Ann Ryan

Alexandra Ivy and Carrie Ann Ryan bring you a new Paranormal Shifter Romance. This is a great two for one. One thing these ladies have in common is to take a tried and true genre and make it their own. I love these ladies they take something and make it dark, and twist it into an emotional mess that is so deeply entwined in the story it causes such a book hangover when you are done and beg for more. Much like in Kim Harrison's The Hallows a deadly virus has spread throughout the world the cure lies with the blood of the shifter and reluctantly they figuratively come out of the closet and save humanity, now here is where it deviates human instead of thanking them they freak out. They try to wipe them all out the creation of the SAU locked them up and, like in Jennifer Ashley's Shifter's Unbound, they end up collared even more they are branded like cattle. But shifter's are strong and can survive and they have had enough they are just bidding their time.

Stolen is Alexandra Ivy's perfect introduction for a new series. In this story you have Alpha of the River Pack, Holden Carter, who became Alpha at the age of fifteen and everything he has done everything in his power to protect his pack. Knowing how important his pack is he has refrained from claiming a mate until he finds one that his wolf wants but since all the wolf shifter are stuffed in one place it's hard for him to find the one for him. Ariel Sands grew up as an orphan in the post virus world where the government and SAU have spread propaganda and lies about the shifters. Everything is fine in her life until she gets kidnapped by SAU and experimented on, then on the verge of death dumped into the woods on shifter land. Holden finds Ariel before she dies and immediately his wolf claims her and breaking pack laws bites her and changes her. With that Holden changes everything and the secrets the SAU come out as well. Now the dangerous chess game between Shifter and SAU has begun.

Forgiven by Carrie Ann Ryan is Carrie Ann at her best. A second chance, shifter romance between the River Pack Beta, Soren Slater, and Cat Shifter Princess, Cora Wilder. As a punishment for keeping Ariel the SAU merged the dogs with the cats. Soren and Cora meet previously when Soren meet with the cat's several years ago. What started as an innocent flirtation ended in heartbreak, Cora's tiger morns for Soren since he left and chose to mate with another wolf to strengthen the pack. Soren has felt guilty over the death of his mate and the appearance of has rekindled the passion and love he has felt for her. Cora is hesitant still hurting from the initial heartbreak but with the sage advise from her father helps her see things from Soren's point of view. But the SAU has other plans and with the knowledge that they can change people and how to do it they target Cora and her Father. The Cat's and the Wolves, but specifically Soren, work together to change their plans.

REVIEW Blood Assassin by Alexandra Ivy

Book Two of The Sentinel series I don't think is good as the first book but in it's own right still very good. It's an exciting story but a little anti-climatic at the end, but it does have some pretty good stuff spread throughout the book and when Fane finally pulls his head out of his ass he is pretty romantic.

Fane and Serra are a great couple. They both knew instantly there was an attraction between them, but only Fane is hesitant pushing Serra away. Finally Serra has had enough and with Fane saying he was leaving to become a teacher at the monastery in Tibet she is determined to move on and forget him. Fane being and obstinate, stubborn and powerful Sentinel tries to keep his distance from Serra and with his bond broken with Callie it's even harder to keep his distance. All the sudden Serra is missing and Fane suddenly realizes, and I mean suddenly, that life without her would be a fate worse than death. Even without a formal bond their bond of love is strong enough to help him track her down. When he finds her she has been kidnapped and she is being blackmailed into helping her kidnapper find his kidnapped daughter.

Bas, talk about complex, you don't know whether to sympathize with him or just hate him for the bastard he is. Bas is a witch with a dark past and is willing to sacrifice everything to get his daughter back. He does show a softer side but his asshole douchery out weights that but he's not the overall villain and it leaves an open ending for him and also for Wolfe and Lana who have their own side story that has me giddy with excitement for their story. The whole searching for the missing daughter went on way too long. I love the characters and I love the whole universe and I plan to continue reading the series.

REVIEW Out of Control by Alexandra Ivy

Out of Control is a prequel in The Sentinels series. It first come out in the anthology Predatory last year. The only thing I don't like is that I have to wait until next year for the next book in the series (January so it's not that bad). It is a novella and can be read in one sitting, depending on how long you get to sit as a mom I don't always get the privilege to do so. Out of Control if a tantalizing glimpse in to the worlds of Sentinels, it's a nice tease.

Angela Locke is a PhD. student with a massive crush on her supervisor. Angela has always felt out of place she always just thought it was because she was work orientated, she doesn't know how wrong she is. Dr. Nikolo Bartrev is undercover at the college, he is there to keep an eye on Angela. A rogue sentinel has heard of the things Angela has done with her research and is determined that only Angela can fix her. The psychopath has left a false trail of dead bodies in another state while she stocks Angela. Niko knows how the rogue's mind works and knows she will show up around Angela at any moment. Niko is one of the best Sentinels and has never let his feeling get in the way before, until now. The attraction between Niko and Angela is messing with Niko's objectivity and is forced to call for back-up before it's to late.

Alexandra Ivy does paranormal right. The Sentinels are very X-menish. A portion of the population has advanced genetics as known as high-borns. They all have volunteered to live in a complex away from "norms". Not everyone of the high-borns was lucky and their are some freaks, ones that look so different their is no fitting in for them at all. This wonderful world of excitement and romance. I really look forward to the next book Blood Assassin.
