ARC REVIEW Killer Curves by Naima Simone

Guarding Her Body book two, Killer Curves, is another exciting story from Naima Simone. Now honestly it wasn't as great as the first book but I loved Sloane; beautiful overweight, fear of failure and all, she is an easy character to relate to. Ciaran is a horn dog (mostly just for Sloane) but dedicated to his job and damn fine. The story and action/suspense were good, it kept me entertained well enough if not a little slow in parts (internal monologues can get tedious if redundant). The red herring was obvious and the actual perpetrator a little predictable, but all the events leading up to and the progression of the romance made a good story.

Sloane is the black sheep of the family; she, instead of being the socialite and trophy wife like her mother and sister, became a teacher. Sloane is overweight and as much as she tells herself that she accepts her weight no one else does, from backhanded compliments from her mother to the outright hateful things her ex-fiance would insult her. Finally getting a backbone and leaving him, Sloane still feels the sting of his words now almost a year later. Sloane is also unhappy in her job, her father pulled some strings and got her a job at a prestigious private high school full of entitled brats, who think they can buy their grades and threaten her job. Lately even weirder things have been happening, strange phone calls and emails. Things escalated and her tires were slashed, thought it wasn't until her house was broken into and she was attacked that she finally does something about it.

Ciaran Ross wasn't looking for love, in fact he didn't want anything to do with it he didn't feel worthy of it. But one look at the killer curves of Sloane and lust hits him square in the chest. When she comes to his security firm for protection Ciaran knows he should hand off the case to someone else because his personal feelings for Sloane but he can't relinquish that responsibility, he feels that only he can protect her. And protect her he does, he also proves to her that she is desireable and that sometimes risks are worth taking.

Overall, this was a very enjoyable read. Can't wait for more.

ARC REVIEW Wanted by Dee Tenorio

A Deadly Secrets novel by Dee Tenorio, I believe is the second book in the series. The first book Convicted, which I have also read. I liked this one a bit more then the first and aside from being painfully predictable it was a very good romantic suspense. This is a dark romance I need to throw that out here now it deals with some pretty bad things in Whitney's past. There is a nice flow to Tenorio's writing style and even paced suspense that doesn't slow down. The characters have tortured pasts that really make you route for them and want to smack them when they are being stupid.

When we first met this small California town it was over run with a horrible biker gang. Rick Terlane returns home and is determined to clean it up and with marine buddy Cade Evigan and undercover DEA agent and hometown girl Katrina Killan to help they successfully wipe the gang out. Now time has past and the residents are still trying to move on past their past. Cade and Kat happily together and a clean run Deputy department and everything seems like it going back to normal until the one of the former corrupt Deputies ends up shot dead and all the circumstantial evidence points to one person Rick's best friend Whitney Peterson

Whitney has been in love with Rick since forever, but she can not share what she thought she had to do in order so protect her mother and her niece. I   t's her dirty little secret to carry around with her forever, or so she thought when the man behind it all ends up dead and she is the number one suspect. One more body shows up and Whit and Rick are stuck between a rock and a hard place as their feelings and sexual attraction get in the way of Rick trying to find out the truth. Whit knows she should trust Rick with the information but is afraid that when he finds out he will no longer look at her the same way again let alone be able to love her. Rick starts off not wanting in any relationship because of the incident that ended his military career but the more trouble points to Whit he grows more protective and realizes his feelings are stronger than he ever thought. But is the old adage right will the truth set you free? Or will Whit be right and it ruins everything she has worked for including her love for Rick.

ARC REVIEW Witness to Passion by Naima Simone

Witness to Passion is the new book for Naima Simone's newest series Guarding Her Body. I love Romantic Suspense and that is something Naima Simone does well. The only thing I disliked was the protagonist name, Fallon, I had to mentally change her name in my head so I wouldn't picture the late night talk show host instead. Other than that I loved the book.

Fallon hates her birthday, bad things always happen to her on her birthday and this last year was no exception, after getting dumped by her boyfriend on twitter she witnesses a gang hit and the leader of the rival gang, who killed the man right in front of her, threatened her life if she told so she told the police everything. Her best friend, Addy, is worried for Fallon who is working and living in a bad neighborhood and with the trial coming up Addy gives in and calls her brother Shane to come and watch out for Fallon.

Shane and  Fallon a a little bit of history on her eighteenth birthday Fallon kissed Shane only to be rejected. They suddenly went from being friends to Shane avoiding Fallon at all costs but when Addy calls and fills him in he drops everything to protect the one woman she shouldn't want. It was a good thing too because the gang leader broke out of prison and now Fallon life is in jeopardy. With tensions and emotions high and Fallon's life on the line they quickly give into the passion they can not deny. No matter how well Shane thinks he hides Fallon they keep getting found and the source of the leak is shocking.

Overall it was a well paced action, suspense, romance, and second chances.
