ARC REVIEW Love You by Stacy Finz

Love You (The Garner Brothers)Garner Brothers #3, YAY Win and Darcy finally get together! Win is typical youngest child syndrome, he's a bit spoiled and self centered, reckless with money and willing to take risks but he's so charismatic and very social and confident and he's truly a nice person you can't help but like him and he plays on that. He knows he's good looking and he's not shy about it. But because of this none of his older brothers take him seriously and after the near father encounter he had he's realized he needs to take the family business seriously. Darcy is a people pleaser and until recently she was in a loveless marriage. Realizing she needed more she left him and moved to Glory Junction to be with her Grandmother and started working at Garner Adventure. Finally starting to live life for herself who better to end her dry spell than free-with-his-favors Win, only he turns her down. Win has grown up a lot in the last six months and he's stopped sleeping around and when shy Darcy offers herself to him he's dumbfounded and kind of hurt that she thinks he would be that easy after what happened but he also starts to see Darcy as something more than just the receptionist at his family's business.

Darcy has been wanting more responsibility at GA and when the opportunity to host the employees of a big social media company's corporate retreat and team building weekend Darcy and Win are paired together for securing the job. If they succeed then Darcy gets her promotion and Win gets his raise. When Darcy's Mom shows up out of the blue and Win starts telling her than Darcy can't get back together with her ex because Darcy and Win are already married, it was a joke all ment in fun but Darcy having to deal with her mother's harsh criticism doesn't think it's funny. Win sees how her mother treats her and becomes very protective of her but that's just the start of Darcy's familial problems.

Darcy and Win's relationship is hot and heavy but because of Darcy's insecurity she is constantly doubting herself in the relationship and is just waiting for him to end it to be with someone better. Win on the other hand has fallen head over heels for Darcy and there is no one better for him. Reading the other two books and this one you can really see the change in Win and how much he has grown up, not to much because that devil may care attitude really helps with securing new clientele. Overall, this was a delightful opposites attract romance, they balance each other out once they learn how and they are good for each other. As always Stacy Finz writes a heartwarming and entertaining romance. Don't miss the next novella in the anthology Santa's on His Way where Stacy Finz writes Snowed In about Glory Junction's own Rachel Johnson, owner of Tart Me Up bakery, and the yummy bar owner, Boden Farmer. INKSLINGERS BLOG TOUR The Protector by HelenKay DImon

Today we have the blog tour for The Protector by HelenKay Dimon! Check it out and get your copy today!

Title: The Protector:

Author: HelenKay Dimon

Genre Romantic Suspense

About The Protector:

Salvation, Pennsylvania. The commune located in the small town was advertised as a modern Utopia: a place to live, share, and learn with other like-minded young people. Cate Pendleton’s sister was one of them. Now she’s dead—and Cate won’t rest until she finds out who killed her. Stonewalled at every turn, she approaches a DC Fixer for help and ends up with Damon Knox, a mysterious man with a secretive past. But Cate soon discovers that she not only needs Damon, she wants him, which isn’t good—for the attraction brewing between them will only lead to complications that can turn into danger . . .

Damon has tried to erase the hellish memories and the evil that happened in Salvation ever since he left a long time ago. Still, he can’t turn his back on Cate. As Damon works with Cate to uncover her sister’s killer, he finds himself drawn to her more and more. But how will she feel about him when she learns about his connection to the place?

Joining forces to uncover the truth, they must stay one step ahead of a cunning killer who’s bent on not being exposed.

This is a first for me from HelenKay Dimon and it definitely won't be the last. Book four in the series The Games People Play and it can be read as a stand alone but now I really want to go back and read the previous books just because their characters are really intriguing anyways, Damon and Cate. Cate lost her sister ten years ago and it was ruled a suicide but that never rang true for Cate she always believed her sister was murdered. Cate has been trying to get information from the "school" about her sister's death but they continue to ignore her request and insist it was suicide. But recently she's noticed that someone has been in her apartment, nothing was taken but it was enough to unnerve her and seek help from a professional. Damon has spent almost half his life trying to forget his time at Salvation and now he's the only one who can get Cate her answers and that means going back. Their presence there, however, stirs up a hornets nest and now both Cate and Damon are risking their lives trying to get all the answers.

Cate and Damon have an instinct spark of attraction that leads to them bickering like an old married couple and helps build on the sexual chemistry so when they finally give in, it's hot and heavy. The entire story was quite intense something was always happening the pace of the book helped build the tension. I loved the narrative description she pulled me and didn't let go until the last page. Overall, definitely a good book, an excellent romantic suspense.

ARC REVIEW Highland Betrayal by Alyson McLayne

Highland Betrayal (The Sons of Gregor MacLeod, #3)The Sons of Gregor MacLeod #3, I'm glad we didn't have to wait long for Maggie and Callum's book, this can be read as a stand alone Callum was in the previous book and only mentioned Maggie was his betrothed and what kind of woman she was and that has no impact on this story but it sure was a nice tease for the story. Maggie and Callum have been betrothed since childhood but when they met again as teenagers Callum knew he would love Maggie forever. The untimely death of Callum's father kept him from going back to claim Maggie as his wife and with the unrest going on he figured she would be safer with her family then with him. Three years later he's no closer to finding his father killer and now he receives word that the betrothal between him and Maggie has been broken, but something seems wrong with the letter and they decide a detour to MacDonnell land is warranted.

Maggie MacDonnell can take care of herself, being the only girl and raised by her father and two older brothers she can shot an arrow and throw a knife better than any man. Her home is in turmoil, John is nowhere to be found and Ross is drinking himself to death after the deaths of his wife and child and now her cousin is trying to take over the lands and instal himself as laird. Maggie is no damsel in distress she can save herself after months of preparing and weeks spying on Irvin trying to find out his exact plans she finally makes her move and escapes if only she hadn't of run across that pack of wolves she would have made it to Edinburgh, lucky Callum and his men ran across her soon after. Things don't get any easier now that Maggie has Callum and his family to help they still have to escape MacDonnell land and when they do make it back to Callum home they still have to find the spy before anyone else dies.

Callum is relentless when it comes to Maggie, he's not going to give her up easily. Maggie has had so much loss in her life she's worried about letting Callum back in afraid he'll leave her and not come back again. Callum's love is steadfast throughout the book and Maggie it's not like she needs all that much convincing she's just scared she makes it harder than it needs to be. I love that Callum respects and loves her all the more for her strength, that's always been there he was always bragging about her talent throwing knives. They are great characters and a fantastic plot, very exciting at parts, with a heartfelt romance. Alyson McLayne has a great style and narrative description. Overall, this was a really good read.

ARC REVIEW Down With Love by Kate Meader

Down with Love (Laws of Attraction, #1)Laws of Attraction #1, The first in a brand new series by Kate Meader. At first I wasn't to thrilled about it being alternating first person POV but seeing as to how I love Kate Meader I gave it a pass and since it was also well done and well written. I love Meaders writing style and switching to first person changes nothing about adept she is at writing.

Max got burned by love and ever since he has been Mr. Cynical when it comes to love and happily ever afters so when his brother, James, tells him he's getting married to his girlfriend of three months Max's cynical mind goes into over time. It doesn't help that James wants a big wedding and that there's a wedding planner. Max has no problem with James' girlfriend but as a divorce attorney he knows people aren't the same as when they first got married.

Charlie Love loves helping people plan their perfect day so when her good friends, Gina and James, announce that they are getting married she of course is going to be their wedding planner. First thing, however, James and Gina warn her about James' cynial divorce attorney brother who will no doubt be all around unpleasant about the whole thing. Charlie thinks she's prepared for it until she meets him. Already off to a bad start with the bad date Charlie is in no mood for Max's bad pick up lines and cocky attitude. Max couldn't help but notice Charlie across the room, he could barely keep his eyes off of her he tries hitting on her but she's immune to his charm and then he finds out she's the wedding planner. First impressions aren't great but Max's sardonic attitude toward Charlie quicky turns to fascination the more time he spends with her. Charlie starts to see that Max isn't as derisive as he seems, after all can he really be that bad if his favorite movies are classic romances or that he normally takes in abandoned housewives for clients?

Overall, I loved this book. And your damn right if I didn't watch An Affair to Remember right after reading this, I would have watched Rear Window too but I don't own it, even though it is one of my favorite Hitchcock movies. Charlie and Max at first glance seem like opposites attract but they have more in common than differences and the differences are only side effects of their baggage once they sort out all their baggage the differences don't seem to matter anymore. It's hard work, love, and you have to be willing to work it out and stick through it and Charlie and Max have to figure that out. I look forward to the other books in the series.

ARC REVIEW Saved by the Cowboy by A.J. Pine

Saved by the Cowboy (Crossroads Ranch, #1.5)Crossroads Ranch #1.5, My First A.J. Pine book and it left me with a good first impression. This was a very cute and fun read a nice novella. I loved the characters and their chemistry, they had some great banter too. Cash Hawkins came back home after college with a broken heart and buried himself in work as the local Sheriff. He's content with his dog and his job and he never realizes just how lonely he is until Olivia Belle speeds through town. Olivia was running away from a proposal and toward some answers. She believed she could find out what love is by reading the old letters her grandparents exchanged before they got married. Olivia thinks herself as broken because she has never fallen in love she wants answers and is determined to find them in Oak Bluff. But her answer comes in a way she wasn't expecting.

Cash realizes the extent of his feelings first and he's not shy at admitting them. Olivia is a little slow on the uptake she keeps thinking she needs to learn how to love by reading someone else's story. Overall this was a nice read. It can be read as a standalone but it's has a real ehh introduction to the Everetts who are the main family in the series and it just raised more questions without really tantalizing you into reading the other books. It is still unclear as to if Olivia was still technically together with Michael when she hooked up with Cash therefore making her a cheater or if running away from him right after he proposed counts as a break up? I for one think it counted as a break up.

ARC REVIEW Darkest Night by Megan Erickson

Darkest Night (Wired & Dangerous, #2)Wired & Dangerous #2, I love intelligence and I'm a sucker for military men in Romance and Jock is both of those. Jamison "Jock" Bosh is retired Army turned mercenary/hitman turned freelance hacker and he joined forces with this crew to find out who killed his friend's brother. Jock knows that pain and was willing to help and in the process they discovered something for more sinister at work. Jock volunteered to watch over Fiona and help protector incase something happened. From the moment Jock saw her picture he was a goner. Fiona's life changed drastically in college she was taken and sold used and abused and then released and for the past ten years she's been looking over her shoulder taking self defence classes and even learning how to fire a gun because in those ten years the people who took her never let her forget what they did to her or that they couldn't easily take her again. But now that Jock is there that isn't going to happen.

What happened in Jock's past made him hard, and to others he may seem emotionless but ever since Fiona Jock has once again opened his heart to another and he'll be damned if he lets anything happen to her. Fiona has been on the mend she has accepted her past but hasn't quite gotten to the point where she can move on with her life and now with the threat to her life and with Jock protecting her she finally realizes what she needs to do to move on and be able to fully recover and let herself love Jock like they both deserve but the journey to that is rocky and scary but Fiona knows what she has to do.

Overall, I loved it. I did feel a connection between Jock and Fiona they were both damaged but gave each other hope that they could have and do deserve happiness. The action was intense and a little predictable, you knew where the story was headed but it was still quite the ride. The dog Sundance stole the show I want one just like him. I hope we do get Erick's story maybe with Tarr  I would read that M/M but I am also hoping we get Marisol or Dade next.

ARC REVIEW Entropy by Jess Anastasi

Entropy (Atrophy, #4)Atrophy #4, This is one book I have been anticipating, I kid you not everytime I would get an Entangled email this series is one I would always look for and now here it is, YAY! When I say I love everything about this series I'm not kidding the major events down to the little details are things that would have me say, "Oh that's a nice touch" or "I would have done the same" they make the book, the whole series something I gravitate towards because it's damn good story telling. This is one book where you should read the previous books with the overall story arc carried throughout the series it would be like walking into a movie at the halfway point.

It's been a year since the events of the last book and cousins Qaelan and Rian are running small jobs for space pirate mastermind Blackstone and have so far Rian has been biding his time before going after the Imojenna. Rian decision also coincides with Qae's horrible mistake of making out with Blackstones only daughter Camille. Now to save his own neck he has to bring Blackstone an insane amount of creds. Cami was the one who got him into the mess so she kind of forces Qae to take her along so she can help. While her intentions are good, Rian still wants to keep her in the dark about the Raedar. That, of course, doesn't last long especially after some poor stupid soul tries to collect on the bounty on Rain's head and Cami witness first hand the Raedar handywork. Now getting the Imojenna back, collecting the required amount of creds all while avoiding the Raedar and the bounty on Rian's head maybe a little difficult, but Cami takes after her dad and comes up with a brilliant but insane plan.

Nothing is ever easy in this world, but boy is it worth it. Qae and Cami are like flint and steel they keep going at each other and creating sparks and not just physically, but mainly verbally and it's interesting in a witty and amusing way. There is no one better for Qae than Cami, she gives as good as she gets and then some and she can hold her own in a fight. The on going Rian and Ella story gets heavier and hotter as Rian starts to accept their connection.

Overall, another fantastic book from Jess Anastasi. There is so much going one but nothing the crew of the Ebony Winter and the Imojenna can't handle.
