ARC REVIEW Darkest Night by Megan Erickson

Darkest Night (Wired & Dangerous, #2)Wired & Dangerous #2, I love intelligence and I'm a sucker for military men in Romance and Jock is both of those. Jamison "Jock" Bosh is retired Army turned mercenary/hitman turned freelance hacker and he joined forces with this crew to find out who killed his friend's brother. Jock knows that pain and was willing to help and in the process they discovered something for more sinister at work. Jock volunteered to watch over Fiona and help protector incase something happened. From the moment Jock saw her picture he was a goner. Fiona's life changed drastically in college she was taken and sold used and abused and then released and for the past ten years she's been looking over her shoulder taking self defence classes and even learning how to fire a gun because in those ten years the people who took her never let her forget what they did to her or that they couldn't easily take her again. But now that Jock is there that isn't going to happen.

What happened in Jock's past made him hard, and to others he may seem emotionless but ever since Fiona Jock has once again opened his heart to another and he'll be damned if he lets anything happen to her. Fiona has been on the mend she has accepted her past but hasn't quite gotten to the point where she can move on with her life and now with the threat to her life and with Jock protecting her she finally realizes what she needs to do to move on and be able to fully recover and let herself love Jock like they both deserve but the journey to that is rocky and scary but Fiona knows what she has to do.

Overall, I loved it. I did feel a connection between Jock and Fiona they were both damaged but gave each other hope that they could have and do deserve happiness. The action was intense and a little predictable, you knew where the story was headed but it was still quite the ride. The dog Sundance stole the show I want one just like him. I hope we do get Erick's story maybe with Tarr  I would read that M/M but I am also hoping we get Marisol or Dade next.
