Kit Colbana book six. I love this series it has been one emotional action packed adventure. Haunted Blade is more so on the emotional side, what happens in this book is very hard for Kit to deal with a lot of it has to deal with her grandmother and what happened when she escaped. This is not a book to start the series with if you are interested in Kit then start at the beginning.
Kit and Doyle are working together doing odd jobs and such for the Assembly and trying to avoid the loathsome fae known as Malcolm, who has been asking Kit to do a job one she has been delightfully refusing. Kit knows Malcolm is up to something what he says and does leads her to believe he might be working with her grandmother, so Kit decides to dig deeper. Something bad is about to happen and Kit can feel it, she gets called in to one of the few vampire masters she can tolerate and told a bit of news now she knows and she must warn all of Orlando or else. What precedes next is a bloodbath. The aftermath reveals that something from Kit's nightmares has been turned loose on Orlando. Kit is starting to remember things she would rather be left forgotten, and has to reveal more about her past to Damon; not without Damon kind of bullying it out of her. Top it all off with the sudden necessity the Vampires have for Jude, the sudden reappearance of her Aunt Rana, and Kit is forced to face something she just can't beat up and kill with a sword, her emotions.
Overall, this book is as emotional as it is violent and bloody, and I really got a kick out of it. Kit never really knows how to process her emotions so she gets mad at Damon and Damon get mad and the have sex and then talk and get mad and have sex and talk. I think Kit is finally realizing that if and when something happens the whole of the NH Orlando will be standing with her to face it.

EXCERPT PREVIEW Haunted Blade by J.C. Daniels
Never let it be said that Kit Colbana had ever been given the easy road. Or even the semi-paved road. Only weeks after dealing with the mysterious—and murderous—being called Puck, she’s got another killer on her hands. Perhaps even two.
Some of the bodies turning up bring up haunting memories of a past she longs to forget, but as always, that past is chasing her at her heels, like a hated shadow.
As the body count racks up, there’s an imbalance of power, particularly among the vampire population, and Kit must yet again deal with ugly memories as one of the monsters who tried to break her is set free to deal with the imbalance of power. Yet while a power struggle rages in East Orlando, there’s another, more subtle battle taking place and Kit feels like the center of it all.
Arrogant? Maybe. But the dead bodies don’t bear the mark of her grandmother’s pet killer by sheer coincidence…and she doubts her nemesis being released is either.
“You’re trying to distract me.” I tugged my shirt down only to realize at some point, he’d already gotten my bra unfastened. Swearing, I adjusted that and moved so that the table now separated us. “Not funny, Damon.”
“I wasn’t trying to be funny.” He tugged at his jeans and went to stretch out on the couch, watching me with heavy lidded eyes.
So he was hiding something—and it was a wasted effort because I knew what it was.
“I already know you met with Malcolm. And apparently, you’re distracted—that makes me think you’re worried about something,” I said, pacing closer to him. “Or you’d figure out how I know.”
His nostrils flared and his body tensed.
He didn’t move from that lazy, slumped position, but his lids lifted and the dark pupils of his eyes flared, darkening his deep gray eyes to near black. “You’ve talked to him…and Marie. Both in one day. I didn’t know you even knew them. Ambitious, kitten. You investigating me again?”
I curled my lip at him. “Funny.”
“I’m not laughing.” He reached up and caught the front of my jeans, tugging hard enough that he pulled me off balance and I ended up falling onto his lap.
He wrapped both arms around me, holding me tight even when I tried to wiggle into a less-awkward position.
“Damn it, you’re a caveman, sometimes,” I said, jabbing him into the gut and twisting around until I was somewhat comfortable. He relented and loosened his grip, letting me sit straddling his lap. “For the record, I am not laughing either.”
Jabbing him in the chest, I added, “No, I’m not investigating you, you dumb ass. He’s telling me that he wants me to do a job—says there’s a blade he wants me to find.”
Damon blinked, the action so slow it was almost comical. He did it a second time, this just simply closed his eyes and shook his head.
“You’re not taking the job,” he said after almost a full minute of silence.
I gave him a withering look. “You’d do better to reword that, pal, because if I even thought you were trying to dictate how I could work and who I could work for, the two of us would be having the fight to end all fights, right before I kicked your ass out of my apartment, for like…forever.”
But if I expected those words to bring about any apology, clearly, I was mistaken.
Slowly, in a move that somehow conveyed all the power in his big body, Damon rose to his feet. His hands hung loose at his sides as he studied me, head cocked. “If Marie was here talking to you, and if you’ve been talking to Malcolm, I’m assuming you’ve already figured out a crucial detail.”
“Just what detail is that, big guy?” I asked, chin going up.
“The prick is dangerous.”
“Newsflash—I knew that quite some time ago. I didn’t need to talk to Marie, orhim, to figure that out. I steer clear of him anyway.”
Stalking close, Damon reached out and hooked his hand around my neck, drawing me to my toes as he hipped his head. “Then why are we having a problem here?”
I bit his lower lip, using that as a distraction. It almost worked.
The knee I tried to drive up between his knees worked better.
Still, between the two, I was able to twist away from him and evade his grasp as I moved farther away. As he turned toward me, blood welling on his lip, I held up a staying hand. “We’re about to have even bigger problems if you don’t calm the hell down,” I warned him.
He held his position, watching me with glittering eyes as he swiped the back of his hand over his mouth. The small smear of blood that remained, he cleared with a flick of his tongue. “We’re going to have a reckoning about this soon enough, you got that?”
“I’m scared.” I curled my lip at him, mostly to piss him off—I was plenty pissed myself.
“Do you honestly think I’m stupid enough to work for him? He’s either fae or an ancient—or both—and you think I’m that crazy, even after what went down with Puck?”
Damon’s brows shot up, then slowly, his face relaxed. “You know what he is.”
“Please.” Smoothing my shirt down, I tried to settle myself, but the anger buzzing off him was taking on an erotic edge and that was affecting me in very, very unsettling ways. “Give me some credit. I realize I haven’t been around the block as many times as you have, old man, but I’m not exactly an idiot.”
He rocked back on his heels, still eying me narrowly. “Since you know what he is and you’ve already said you don’t plan to work for him…what’s the problem?”
“You!” Huffing out a breath, I crossed my arms over my chest. “You big ass, you don’t get to tell me what I can and can’t do! You’re not my alpha! You’re not my sugar daddy, my boss or my master. I love you, Damon, but you don’t get to control me—I don’t obey your orders but you think you can growl and snarl at me and I’ll meekly obey, after all this time?”

ARC REVIEW Pieces of Me by Shiloh Walker
Pieces of Me is an odd one. If you know Shiloh Walker's writing you know she can get really dark and this one is no exception. Shadow Grace Harper was a young artist who met an older man and fell head over heals, as the years pass she finally break out of his controlling hold, he has manipulated her and abused her to the point she is no longer the person she once was. She has become so paranoid he'll come and force her back that she has become obsessive compulsive about her locks, windows and everything else. It's been three years and she is just starting to feel in control of her life, sort of. She has a routine she follows and any deviation will cause severe panic attacks.
One morning as her usual she spend down at the beach drawing, the man she nicknamed Lobo because his tattoo spoke to her. Caught completely by surprise she panics, it's only late she realizes she left her notebook, the same one she's been drawing very suggestive pictures of him. The whole day she spent worrying about her notebook absolutely certain it would be gone forever. But the next morning she finds it sitting at her usual spot but on one of the pictures her mystery guy wrote something. She continues the morning as usual except this time he sits with her introduces himself, Dillian Jenkins.
Dillian is patient and kind to Shadow, he pushes her comfort zone but yet she feels safer with him than she has in the last eight years. But Shadow's ex-husband hasn't left her alone completely he has been paying someone to watch her and when Dillian comes into the picture he comes back to torment Shadow once again. But can Dillian offer her the much needed strength so she can finally get rid of her ex for good or will Dillian's own secret betray that trust.
Overall, the story was heartbreaking. The insta-lust between Shadow and Dillian was hot; sexual chemistry up the wazoo. Unfortunately this has one of those non-end kinda endings, it could be a cliffhanger but it doesn't feel like it. I enjoyed it it was an emotional journey for Shadow. Shiloh Walker knows how to write heroes I love.

ARC REVIEW The Right Kind of Trouble by Shiloh Walker
The McKay's book three by Shiloh Walker, The Right Kind of Trouble is the conclusion to the McKay's troubles. I hope I see more of the town McKay's Treasure in the future. I'm a fan of Shiloh Walker, I really enjoy her writing and I had been waiting on Moira and Gideon's story since the first book. First off I would not read this as a stand alone, it is easier to understand and follow if you have read The Trouble with Temptation and Headed for Trouble. It is a great big ball of mystery and devious means the whole shebang that started in the first book wraps up and I just have to say, I CALLED IT!!! Right off the back from the first book I said he did it, I love it when I'm right. But the reason behind it, which I was nowhere near close to guessing right was good, great motive.
Moira and Gideon have a history, it has said as much in the previous book but in this one it delves a little bit more in the the seriousness of their history and the fact that Moira was punishing herself for what she thinks she did wrong. Up until this book you always see Moira as the calm collected type, queen bee, in charge, ice queen but you see the vulnerable side of her in this one. With everything going on dealing with the trouble with the family and the fact that both Hannah and Neve are planning a double wedding and then someone attacked her; Moira is having a hard time keeping her composure add that to fact that Gideon has started dating one of the other deputies and she is close to breaking down. Gideon never stopped loving Moira it has never wavered, he has never given up but he's close to his breaking point now too. After so many years of being close but never being able to have and he can't move on with her so close it's not fair for the woman he started seeing because he never stops think about Moira. Moira's attack rattles some sense back into both of them they are finally able to talk about the past and straighten things out and move on hopefully with each other.
The motive for Moira's attack is someone is looking for the lost McKay treasure, only there isn't one. After her attack the IRS gets a tip that the family is hiding money from the government, bring trouble to the company, then it's discovered someone in the company has been embezzling and that's one more thing for Moira to worry about. Then Brannon's book store is set ablaze, then Moira's project that she put her heart and soul into the McKay Museum is torched as well. It almost seems like a never ending saga of "what the hell is going to happen next?" It is all revealed, but it's not over until the climactic ending.
Overall, this was a good series I loved the characters and the whole mystery arc in all three books. This book I love Gideon, Moira was a little hard to like at some points just because of her way of doing things and being stubborn. I swear I was almost screaming at her, "Just listen to Gideon Dammit!!" but other than that I loved it.

ARC REVIEW Shadowed Blade by J.C. Daniels
I am so happy that this book is finally out! IF you are already a fan this is without a doubt an automatic buy. If you are curious about the series I very highly recommend it, it is one of my favorite Urban Fantasy series. You might want to reread (or just read) Misery's Way before you start this one just to refresh your memory on what happened between Frankie and Kit because it is mentioned in this but it is just glossed over mainly because this is from Kit's POV and Kit doesn't remember much of what actually happened. That's one thing about the beginning of this book it seems disjointed it bounces around a lot and some of the events are completely skipped over and then just and just rehashed as a summery. This is good however because soooo much happens in the book if all of it was written out it would be a much longer drawn out story.
I can't get to much into the story because it might be to revealing of spoilers and that's a no no. So as of the last book Kit was hired by the President of the United States to do some "simple" tasks the last one almost got Kit and Justin killed. They manage to get back to Orlando barely alive but that's when things get hectic. On old friend of Justin and Kit's show up a super psychic that goes by the name of Nova. It turns out Justin and the healing witch, Colleen, who was with him were kidnapped. Kits mounts the rescue. This is just the tip of the shitstorm iceberg. Tensions are running high especially since the President isn't taking it lightly that Kit is refusing to do any more jobs for him. People aren't who they say they are and the past isn't as cut and dry as Kit thinks, and that one on going story arc with the missing shifters and witches, well lets just say exciting!!
Overall, I freakin' loved this book. The series altogether is exciting, dark, emotional, suspenseful and hot as hell especially with Damon, that kitty can make me purr. I think if you picked this book up without reading the others you could follow along with the story it does a good job refreshing our memories about past events that a newbie could possibly pick it up fine.

ARC REVIEW Headed for Trouble by Shiloh Walker
Shiloh Walker's newest series The McKays starts off with a bang. This was a great read. Shiloh Walker does it again she creates a small town of gossipy bizzy bodies, a heroine with a dark past, and a strong sexy Scottish hero. Neve is a poor little rich girl, but it's a deserved title. She was eight when her parents died and her two older siblings and the housekeeper were left to raise her. Neve was desperate for attention and she learned early on that if she behaved badly she got the attention of her family. Moira was eighteen and was left to go to college and run the corporation her parents ran, and Brannon only thirteen. Neve then started the domino effect of her bad behaviour that lead to the nickname Trouble. It wasn't until a bad experience in highschool that she realized she was doing it all wrong. She tried to change her ways but everybody would not let her past mistakes go. This is Neve's story but it also teases a little bit about Moira and Brannon stories too.
Neve left home after high school because she wanted to prove to her family that she could make it on her own if she tried. She did, she became a model but her job was getting in the way of her school and then she was swept of her feet by the a rich british man. For ten years she has been gone and for the last six she has been on the run, hiding from William Clyde. With no place left to go, to hide, she returns home hoping that her family can offer her the safety she needs. Being back home Neve still feels like an outsider, the letters she wrote when she was gone all came back return to sender. She doesn't know how her family will react to seeing her again. Especially after the last time she saw Brannon she threw a classic Neve temper tantrum and left, it was also the last time William beat her.
Ian is the sexy Scot that manages the pub in town. Neve's first night back Ian was enchanted with her beauty and it would have lead to a very, very satisfying night if they hadn't been interrupted. And when Ian finds out she is his best friends little sister he gets that sinking, aww shit, feeling in his gut. After talking to to Brannon, Ian decides he's going to go after Neve either way. Neve isn't looking for a relationship with her past experience only being a sociopath who almost killed her and has been stalking her for six years Neve is understandable hesitant. But Ian does his best to woo her and become the kind of friend she needs right now; if that leads to more all the better. Ian is successful, just by being there for her and understanding her and most important to her he believes her story about William.
Moira and Brannon welcome back their little sister with open arms and finally begin to mend the broken ties between them. It's a lot easier now that they know the full truth about what happened in the time she was gone. Let us not forget to mention Gideon, bad boy turned town Sheriff, ex-boyfriend of Moira who's still in love with her. Gideon is as much a brother to Neve as Brannon, he has always been their for her and never believed the gossip about her. This book teases us with the history of Moira and Gideon and some unanswered question about some of the stuff that has happened. It also introduces us to Hannah :) another one of Neve's only true friends in school; and it leaves us off with the start of Brannon and Hannah's story.
Overall, this is a great read. I love the characters and the story line it's funny and suspenseful all the while Ian is the sweetest hottest book boyfriend since Mrs. Walker's Decker. I love me a ginger.

ARC REVIEW Good Girls Don't by Shiloh Walker
Re-release of Shiloh Walker's Good Girls Don't came out last month. I loved the book I wish there was more of it it was short and dirty. This is a great quick, light BDSM erotica read.
Lori has been rethinking her relationship with her fiance.
Her best friend and neighbor, Mike, has noticed she has been getting more and
more depressed each day he tried to tell her she needed to dump him. Lori
scared that Mike is right but still doesn't do anything, until she walks in on
her fiance doing doggie style with one of the other neighbors that she realizes just
how manipulative and horrible her ex really is. Lori not taking any shit kicks
him out head held high. Lori realizing all the things her ex held back from her starts to do everything she has wanted to do but he wouldn't let her. With the new change in her life Lori takes the bull by the
horns and she
gets a membership to the sex (BDSM) club in town.
Mike, local Police Detective, has lusted after his neighbor
for years but she is so sweet and innocent and he likes things a little... more
and is afraid he would scare her off if she knew his sexual proclivities. The
last thing Mike expected to see was Lori at Expose, the BDSM club. Mike thought
he was scaring her away but all he did was kindle the fire. After a weekend
of outstanding sex Mike runs scared. Lori isn't going to run crying into the
night; is she upset, Hell Yes, does it hurt more then when she found her fiance cheating on her, definitely, is she going to take it lying down, fuck no. Before Mike can catch up to her and apologize something happens with her ex and he just may have lost
her for good and it was not fault of his own.
Overall, Read the whole thing in no time I wish it had more
it wasn't near long enough I think it could have been longer and more detailed about
the other suspense events, but I still Loved it. I loved Lori she was a lot
stronger than she thinks she is and she knows what she want she won't stop 'til she gets it. And the bonus book is one I read last year
loved that one too.

ARC REVIEW Grimm's End by Shiloh Walker
Grimm's End... in ten days (10/27/15) the conclusion to Shiloh Walker's Grimm's Circle series releases and we finally find out what happened to Will after he jumped into the portal. Oh my gosh this book what can I say about it; the action- outstanding, exciting, nail biting situations; the internal struggle- Will fighting for forgiveness, Mandy- never giving up on the fact that Will is alive even if it's killing her from the inside out; the sex- ooooohh for two years Mandy has been having dreams of Will dreams in which they both are able to profess their love and show it. My favorite quote:
Will said it at the end of the last book one of the last things he told Mandy before sacrificing himself for the greater good. For two years Mandy has been slowly dying inside pining after Will. She often visits the place he disappeared and is visited by the wraith, the black winged angel of death who tries to convince her to just give up on Will.
Sina has taken charge of the Grimm's and like Will she is slowly losing her coloring turning her into a whiter shade of pale and silver. The demons haven't let up, even with Will's sacrifice, they seem to be just getting worse after one particularly heinous attack Rip and Greta are taking care of the carnage when a portal opens up and Greta gets pulled in; she's only gone for a minute or two and then comes back. But what she saw while over there changes everything. Only a few minutes on this side but it lasted six hours on the other side and she was there with Will. Mandy has developed more powers in the last two years and knows she needs to be at Sina's house she knows there's news about Will. SIna is still trying to protect Mandy and doesn't want Greta to tell her, but Greta is like a mother to Mandy and believes that Mandy deserves to know. Mandy now knows will is definitely still Alive she is willing to leave the Grimm's if Sina doesn't let her go and try to bring him back.
Mandy lived through the memories and now the hard part is to convince Will to come back with them. They also finally get the chance to show and express their love and still Will does not want to go.
The quotes are taken from the ARC and may be different from the final publication.
"If I could have let myself, I would have loved you..."

"I love him, Rip. I'll never, ever love another. My one chance is this...either I save him, or I die in the trying"Rip and Greta are willing to help because they know how she feels and would do the same if they were in her shoes, so they enlist the help of Rob. Rob is bat shit crazy, on a good day otherwise he's just plain fucking insane; but Rob knows how to open a portal. Everything goes wrong as soon as Rob and Mandy pass through the portal and they are attacked, and outnumbered. Will comes to save the day but almost too late Mandy is poisoned by one of the demons and accidentally gets some of Rob and Will's blood in her, the result is she learns the horrible truth of Will's past; first hand she lives through his memories.
Mandy lived through the memories and now the hard part is to convince Will to come back with them. They also finally get the chance to show and express their love and still Will does not want to go.
"I could have two thousand years...or two hundred thousand with you and it wouldn't be enough"Will is stubborn and doesn't feel like he deserves her and it takes and angel and a wraith to make him see the light. Overall, This really was a satisfying ending to a great series.

ARC REVIEW Wicked Wild Fantasies by Shiloh Walker
Previously published as HER WILDEST DREAMS. This title has been extensively rewritten and revised. New material has been added and it has been re-edited.
This was a great one; sweet in a romantic way, and steamy hot, hot, hot. Best friends/little sisters is one of my favorite tropes. Shiloh Walker is fantastic when it comes to seduction with a touch of dark. I always like the style of Shiloh Walker's narrative she writes engaging characters and panty dropping Alpha's and always an engaging story with a hint of dark. I can only imagine how this story went before the rewrites.
Alison Ryan never really thought about what she was missing in her life until it flashed before her eyes, when a druggie tried to mug her. She was saved by her brother's best friend Detective Alex O'Malley. Alex always knew is best friends little sister had a crush on him but when he saw her being threatened by a druggie with a knife his perception of her changed, almost as if he was really seeing her for the first time. Alison was raised by a cop and raised to never cry but Alex knew that what she needed and that his shoulder was the one she would cry one. After having the scare of her life Alison fell asleep in Alex's arms when she woke up he was still asleep but playing with her. The only thing she ever wanted was for Alex to make love to her so she took the chance and didn't wake him. He he finally did wake up he couldn't, didn't want to stop. After he felt guilty and blamed himself for what happened. It was almost too much for her to bear; she was just as much to blame than Alex but it hurt her deep inside to have him apologize for what happened. The final straw was when Alison's co workers once again tried to take advantage of her good nature, that is when it hits her that she needed a change and with the help of a good friend that exactly what she does.
A makeover, finishing school, getting her RN license, ten days in Ireland, a lover, and a couple months away from Alex was all Alison needed. She flourished, she blossomed into the beautiful woman that was hiding underneath her own insecurities. Alex hasn't been able to shake this new feeling he has in regards to Alison, he can't stop thinking about her when he is awake and he dreams about her at night. When he finally sees her he doesn't recognize her, and when he realizes it's her he can't stop himself from loving her. Alex's sexual appetite leans heavily on the dominant side and is at first hesitant that it might scare Alison away, until she admits to him she has always wanted him in that way and that she isn't scared by it but turned on. Alex isn't going to have an easy time because convincing Alison he loves her for her isn't enough he has to convince his best friend/ her brother.
Overall, ooohh this book is good. It's hot, almost guaranteed to make you horny.

ARC REVIEW Final Protocol by J.C. Daniels
One of my favorite dark romance/urban fantasy writers has written one of my top favorite genres, science fiction, to say I was happy is an understatement. When I finally stopped bouncing up and down in my chair and settled down to read it I was absorbed into a futuristic world of demented villains and tortured anti-heroes and strange alien races. I enjoyed it, I didn't love it but it was still a good read. One thing that kept throwing me off was all the alien words it was hard to keep track of what meant what. There was a lot of internal monologue, it is in first person POV so she tends to get overly depictive in describing the setting and how it made her feel. Some of it felt rushed, parts I wish there was more of and other parts I wish there was less. What I did love was the characters and the emotional strength of Silence. Silence is the quintessential Shiloh Walker/J.C. Daniels Heroine.
*It is not for the faint of heart, if you feel rape doesn't belong anywhere in romance then don't read this.*
Silence was born ten years ago to lies, abuse, and rape; if she existed before then the memories only live in her dreams. Her owner, Gold, a disturbed man uses her as he sees fit and that usually means as an assassin. She was trained to kill and yet the one person she wants to kill more than anyone else in the world as rigged it so she can't. A biochip in her brain that he can tap into at anytime to track her down or strike her dead, Silence has no choice but to comply. Gold has spewed his lies to her over and over that it has her convinced that what he said actually happened and that the love of life used her to pay a debt. Her dreams have gotten more vivid; like her sub conscience trying to tell her something but she still only sees part of the story.
Silence has refused to carry out her last mission of killing an old man, instead of killing her Gold gives her an out, one last job and she is free and clear of him. The man who gave her up is her next target. Silence is no fool she has planned for the last few years a contingency plan whether she is free of him after this by his hand or hers she will be free she goes to complete her last mission. But Gold messed up he never should have underestimated Silence and Orion. An emotional revelation of truth and an all around love conquers all ending, even if it was kind of abrupt.

ARC REVIEW Misery's Way by J.C. Daniels
In a couple of days J.C. Daniels newest short story is released. It is an intro to a new series which is a spin off to the addictive series Kit Colbana. I warn you it is short and it is either going to piss you off or have you chomping at the bit for the first full length one to come out. It is written in typical J.C. Daniels style. It introduces Frankie who isn't quite human, not even a little bit and Saleel who isn't human either, well anymore. The mystery behind these two isn't answered anywhere in this short story just a hint.
Frankie is a faith healer, who really heals. While in Florida Frankie comes across two very unlikely people, Kit and Justin. This takes place after the events of Edged Blade, Frankie and her special gift sees Kit as a good sign and sees Kit and her past and respects her all the more for it.
The bonus story is Bladed Magic, it is all about how Justin and Kit first met. It is a good tie in between A Stroke of Dumb Luck and Blade Song.
Overall it's great, it is a must read for any Kit Cobana fan or if you are just discovering it Frankie's story could be read separate from Kit. Either way this is a great introduction for both series.

ARC REVIEW The Virgin's Night Out by Shiloh Walker
I loved this story. it's a blend of three troupes typically over used in the romance genre but Shiloh Walker has used these wonderfully. Troupe one: Best Friend/Little Sister; Troupe Two: Unexpected Pregnancy; Troupe Three: AMNESIA! At the start you think this is just the usual romantic fluff, I love a good bit of fluff, but this in Shiloh fashion gets a little deep. It is a beautifully written story about uncertainty and than love and hope.
Sloane Redding spurned by her fiance when he left her at the altar left her hometown and reinvented herself. On the eve of her brother's wedding she shows up in a stunning red dress to show off just what her ex has missed out on. She never expected to hook up with a tall dark stranger. Sloane is surprised when she finds out her one night stand is her brother's best man/best friend; even more surprising when she finds out she is pregnant. Scared about what kind of man he really is evaded the truth when asked if there was a "problem". Boone Cassidy never intended on a random hookup sure he thought about it but did not intentionally seek one out especially since the drop dead gorgeous brunette in the red dress turns out to be his best friends little sister. But there's something about Sloane that calls to him and is oddly disappointed when she says their is no problem. Months later Boone goes missing on the job and when he returns he can't remember a thing. But even then Sloane and her beautiful baby call to him.
The Bonus Story I loved, I wasn't expecting it but Tempt Me was so good.

He laughed and dropped down on my bed.I frowned. He lifted a brow. “Problem?”“Damon’s coming over tonight.”Now Justin grinned and laid back on the bed, linking his hands together behind his head and stretching out.
Sighing, I rubbed the back of my neck.“Are you trying to make me hurt you?” I asked. “Because trust me, I’m frustrated enough to do you a lot of damage.”Frustrated didn’t touch it.My plans of inviting Damon back home after the Halloween Ball had fallen through and he’d spent the next few days dealing with some sort of clan politics. It turned out that the clan in northern Georgia seriously had business—the kind that came with a major B— that needed to be discussed with the Assembly and now that Matthew wasn’t allowed in the area, they were fumbling to come up with a plausible arrangement, because Amund wasn’t rescinding the ban. And nobody could make the millennia-old vampire rescind it.All of it made my head spin. If I thought about it too long, I’d have a migraine. All I wanted was one night with my guy. One night. Then, just when I was thinking I’d go join him at the Lair, I got the call from Nova.It had taken almost a week of running leads down before I’d managed to find the woman Nova had seen in his vision and I almost hadn’t made it in time.I hadn’t seen Damon in nearly two weeks.I hadn’t had sex in so long, I didn’t even want to think about it.And Justin was doing one thing guaranteed to make Damon’s brain shut down.“You know, this is what happens when you hook up with a shifter, Kit,” Justin said, pushing up onto his elbows. His black T-shirt rode up, baring his flat belly. “The animal kicks in too easily, shuts down the brain. Now, me? If we were still together, I wouldn’t be all that worried if your bedroom smelled like another man.”“That’s because you can’t scent another man in my bedroom, you asshole.”
He shrugged. Crossing his feet at the ankle, he said, “He knows we’re done. I just—hey!”Justin glared at me from the floor.I let go of his ankles and smiled.“You were saying?”He cocked his head. “Well, the view is nicer from down here.”

Love. Love. Love. Love.
I was inordinately happy when I got this book! I was also immensely happy when J.C. Daniels didn't tear my heart out and trounce on it like the past books did. The adventures of Kit Colbana continues she is now almost fully recovered and wants to finally stop "waiting" and move on with Damon (mmmm Damon drool....) if only the job would stop getting in the way. Justin for personal reasons takes the case and knows that missing NH are going to get to Kit. The vampire Abraham is the first vampire that Kit isn't instantly wanting to kill and also for reasons of his own want to help. Every species of NH is affected and Kit, Justin and Abraham mount a rescue even when one of the missing is Damon's ex Kit still does what she knows is right. Nothing is as it seems as the missing NH's lead to a more sinister plot. **Warning there is a bit of a cliffhanger**
J.C. Daniels always weaves a spell in words that has me mesmerized from beginning to end.

Keelie doesn’t believe in the “perfect man.” But the men who are worth the trouble are usually taken—like her business partner Zach Barnes. After a string of bad luck and the lost chance with Zach, Keelie decides that maybe flying solo—and living with suppressed desires—is the key to happiness.
As a photographer, Zane Barnes has an eye for the human form, and his eyes can’t get enough of Keelie’s curves. Unfortunately, Keelie is like most women—always fawning over his little brother, Zach. Zane is about ready to give up, but then a few stolen moments at his brother’s wedding have him thinking maybe there’s a chance there after all. Now he just has to prove that the perfect man does exist…for her.

Razed book two in Shiloh Walkers Barnes Brothers continues
with Zane and Keelie. It isn’t necessary to read the first book in the series
but to better understand the history between Keelie and the Zach Barnes. The
story is very light for a Shiloh Walker novel; I have gotten use to a dark
aspect to her stories and this one in comparison to some of her other is a bit
lighter. In parts was a bit slow but still enjoyable for me. I love the Barnes
brothers, when they find “The One” they know it and don’t give up until she is
theirs. Zane I love (and not just because I love the name Zane) he has a dark
past that he has hid from his family, but it has helped shape him as a person.
Kellie has a bit of a dark past that keeps her from
completely showing her true self; she hides behind her tattoos and a snarky bitch
persona. Keelie use to think she was in love with Zach and after a bland kiss
she finally let go and gave in to the idea that Zach was meant to be with
someone else. At Zach’s wedding Zane finally makes his move on the woman he
hasn’t been able to forget about. Keelie gives in to Zane’s kiss, and
unexpectedly she gets the zap and tingle she always expected to feel with Zach.
Zane lets go of Keelie for now but three months later Zane is moving his life
to be closer to her and to finally start living as a full time photographer. To
help Keelie open up Zane reveals his dark past to her, opening old wounds. The
Barnes Brothers become suspicious about her past when a PI calls looking for an
heiress with the exact description of Keelie. Zane helps Keelie admits that her
past is in the past and that she needs to face it and finally let go. With Zane
understanding Keelie is finally able to move on. But Zane getting Keelie to
admit she loves him is another matter and he won’t stop until she does.

BLOG TOUR Furious Fire by Shiloh Walker w/ GIVEAWAY
The Grimm are coming to an end…the second to last book
He is the love of all her lives…
Grimm’s Circle, Book 8
Thomas Finn, troublemaker, gunslinger, guardian angel…loner. More than a hundred and fifty years ago, he was shot in the back then brought back to life just in time to watch a demon masquerading as his best friend kill the love of his life.
Now, as a Grimm, he satisfies his need for vengeance hunting down demons like the ones that took Rebecca from him. His mission: kill as many as he can, then, when the time comes, go down in a blaze of glory. But with each kill, he comes closer to a line no angel should cross.
Her name was Rebecca. Then it was Tilly. Then Ada. Now, Kallypso. She’s lived so many lives, she can’t even remember when or why it started. All she knows is, she’s always searching for a man with golden eyes that make her burn. And when she finds him—as she always does—she knows that spark of joy means she’s only seconds away from death…again.
This time will be no different…unless something breaks the cycle once and for all.
Warning: Contains the Groundhog Day of star-crossed lovers, a pissed-off guardian angel, a demon-hunter with an axe to grind, and the battle to end all battles. Be warned…there’s pain ahead in this book. Oh, and that HEA finally happens. For these two, anyway.
This will be the second to the last in the Grimm series…make sure you read it…want to see how it all comes down…
“How is your touch ever going to harm me, Finn?” she asked as she came close to him. Her nipples pressed against the thin cloth of her chemise and through the almost-sheer pantaloons, he saw the dark shadow between her thighs.
But that wasn’t what made his throat go dry or what had his heart slam against his chest with an intensity he hadn’t known since before his death.
She’d spoken to him…in Becky’s voice.
But Becky was dead, and unlike Finn, when she’d died, she hadn’t been brought back through Death’s door.
“Stop,” he growled, uncertain what trick his brain was playing on him. Dreaming. He knew he was dreaming. He’d always hated it when he dreamed, but this had to be the worst—
She smiled at him, and as the smile curved her lips, her face wavered, reformed. Now she was growing taller, her skin darkening from pale cream to a warm, toffee brown. “Stop what?”
Another Grimm-tastic book from the brain of Shiloh Walker. Shiloh Walker has a captivating narrative, with in the first words I was pulled in to the world of angels and demons. With the series almost over so much happens in this story. It switches from first to third person and from present to flashback and is a nonstop adventure. Mark Twain based his story on the adventures of two young boys he meet, Thomas Finn regrets ever telling him those stories. Finn loved and lost Rebecca, lost her to his best friend Sawyer, who turned out to be possessed by a demon. Rebecca has always been his torment, she has been reincarnated over and over again always dying shortly after coming back together with Finn. Each of her incarnations she remembers more and more this latest one she remembers enough to become a bad-ass demon hunter.
Will, the leader of the Grimm, comes across Rebecca's most recent incarnation, Kalypso Carfax, first and is determined to keep her and Finn apart and break the cycle they keep living. But Kaly doen't leave well enough alone and almost kills herself hijacking a ride with Will. Kaly knows immediately Finn but it takes him some time to figure it out. But their problems are pushes to the side as they are faced with a giant opening releasing countless demons. Will has gathered all the Grimm for an epic-like battle and a drastic end.
I absolutely loved this book, but it's Shiloh Walker I'm not surprised I loved it.

About YOU OWN ME: It had always been her… Ten years had passed since the doors slammed shut behind Decker Calhoun, taking away his freedom, but more importantly, locking him away from Elizabeth Waters, the only woman he’d ever loved—the woman he’d given up everything for. The day he was sentenced, he’d looked at her and said, No regrets, Lizzie. But he lied, because he did have one. Although he’s been out of jail for three years now, he was a year too late. Lizzie never knew how he felt and just months before he was released, she found somebody else and it’s too late. Or maybe not. It seems that Lizzie’s boyfriend wants an open relationship and two can play at that game. Now all Decker has to do is convince Lizzie that he’s the better man…and has been all along.
Snarling, he tore his mouth from hers and jerked away, sitting
at the far end of the futon. With hands that shook, he rubbed at his face.
Son of a
bitch
“Lizzie…fuck. I’m sorry.”
A harsh intake of breath reached his ears and the last thing
he wanted to do was face her, but that was what he made himself do.
The minute he turned his head to look at her, she surged up
off the futon, moving across the small office to stand by her desk, head bowed,
arms wrapped around herself. “Get out,” she said, her voice quiet.
Too quiet.
“Lizzie?” Wincing, he climbed off the couch. “Look,
I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have—”
“Don’t.” The word was pure steel and it caught him
off-guard, for a second.
But just a second. Because while Lizzie was soft and sweet,
under all of that, she was steel. She always had been—he’d figured
that out when he hadn’t chased her off within the first few hours of meeting
her. Now, as she turned and looked at him, tears glinted in her wide, dark brown
eyes, but nothing could hide the fury, and the hurt, in those eyes.
Fuck, he thought miserably. Rising from the couch,
he lifted a hand only to let it fall uselessly to his side. “Lizzie, I’m sorry.
I didn’t—”
“I don’t want to hear it!” she shouted, cutting him off.
He had to duck to avoid the little potted orchid she sent
flying his way. And damn, she still had a good throwing arm.
“Do you hear me?” she said, her voice starting to shake. “I
don’t want to hear it,
okay? Nobody wants me. No fucking body. I’m fine as a doormat for Noel
as long as I let him treat me like shit, but he doesn’t want me. Neither do you. I get
it. Okay?”
Stunned shock rippled through him as she shoved her tumbled
hair back from her flushed face. Her eyes shot sparks as their gazes clashed.
“I get the point. You’re a fucking hound dog and I know that. But I’m not good
en—”
He caught the rest of her words with his mouth and when she
went to shove him back, he caught her wrists, too. Sinking his teeth into her
lower lip, he backed her up against her desk. “Not want you?” he muttered
against her mouth. “Are you blind?”
She tried to turn her head and he tangled a hand in her
hair, yanked it back. Her pupils flared, her mouth falling open on a startled
moan. “Give me your mouth, Lizzie,” he said and then, without waiting, he took
it, thrusting his tongue deep.
She bit him and he responded by letting her wrists go and
catching her hips, boosting her up with one arm while he used the other to
swipe out against her desk, clearing it with one careless gesture. Lizzie
worked her hands between them and although he didn’t break away from her mouth,
part of him held his breath—waited.
When she reached up and tangled her hands in his hair, he
snarled in savage satisfaction.
Lying her down on her desk, he broke away. Her hands
clutched at him and he caught them, shifted her wrists to one hand and pushed
them up over her head. Then, as he held her gaze, he reached down and freed the
top button of the top she wore. With each successive button, he bared more and
more skin, pale, pretty skin, lush curves, her breasts cupped by silk and lace
and his brain almost exploded as he flicked a look from her face downward to
study those ripe curves.
“My hands are shaking,” he said, struggling to keep his
