Tempting Signs book #3 is Ranae Rose's Gemini Rising. Unfortunately it didn't float my boat. I'm not much one for the boxing or mixed martial arts subgenre nor am I crazy over M/M/F, I am very picky about menage stories. I liked the characters and it's very hot but I just wasn't my cup of tea.
Grant and Daniel use to train together, live together and share women together, but when things got a little bit too intense between the two of them it ended abruptly. Now years later they are training at the same gym again and both interested in the same woman. Lila was raised by her uncle after her parents deaths and is used to being around fighters. She enjoys her life but gets confused about being attracted to two men. The animosity between Grant and Daniel grows until everything is laid out on the table and secrets revealed and when everything is mended between them they pull Lila into the mix. But when narrow minded people stick their nose where it's not wanted everything their relationship with Lila and each other as well as the reputation of the gym is compromised.

BOOK
SUMMARY:
Genevieve MacKenzie has her life completely under control. About to wed
the charming Chief doctor at the local hospital, she’s an up-and-coming surgeon
with everything she could ever want. Until an escape through the church window
on the day of her wedding sends her life into a tailspin…and flings her right
into her best friend’s arms.
When Wolfe catches his best friend falling out a window on her wedding
day, he doesn’t ask questions. He whisks her away, determined to watch over her
and discover the truth behind her desperate escape. But when his feelings turn
more than platonic, he realizes he may risk his most important relationship in
order to protect his damaged heart, and the woman he loves.
Can Genevieve and Wolfe’s friendship turn into something deeper—or is it
already too late for true love?

He strode over to the receptionist desk, where those
wide navy blue eyes looked seemingly innocent. He was
used to seeing her in scrubs or jeans, so the sexy, black lace
top and flash of bare leg from her skirt threw him off for a
moment. Her usual ponytail had been replaced by curls flying
free over her shoulders. Chestnut waves flopped over
one eye, which looked annoying but damn seductive. Flirty.
Definitely not like the Gen he knew.
He laid both palms flat on the desk and leaned over. “I
think the better question is, what are you doing here?”
She gave a pout. Was she wearing lipstick? He
wouldn’t have pegged her to wear a bold color, but the
rich, coffee-colored lipstick clung to her mouth and
tempted a man to try a sip.
What the hell was he thinking?
“You’re in a mood. I work here now.”
His temper rose another notch. “You’re a doctor. Why
aren’t you at the hospital?”
She shifted in the chair. “I quit.”
He turned. “I’m going to kill the son of a bitch. Wait
here.”
Wolfe earned a few steps before she scrambled and
skid ahead of him, blocking his exit. “Kate already tried
twice. Listen, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, but it’s for the best.
There was an incident and I realized I won’t be able to
work there.”
“Why didn’t you tell me? I get a text saying you’re
working late, then staying at Kate’s. You refuse to answer
my calls, and when I finally get in touch with Kate, she says
you’re not with her. Crap, Gen, you gave me a heart attack!
I’m stuck at the convention with a bunch of suits and
couldn’t get to you. What incident?”
“A patient thing. I needed some time alone and didn’t
want to bother anyone.”
Wolfe gritted his teeth and prayed for calm. “You’re
not a bother. You’re my friend.”
Her face softened and she grabbed his arms. Her fingers
lay directly over the thin leather that covered his
wrists, but the heat from her touch still burned. “I know.
You have to understand how I’ve been feeling lately. Like
a whiny, pitying, weak female. Suddenly I’m doing all
these crazy things and I broke. I’m better now, but thank
you.”
Her patronizing words made him more enraged. He
still wasn’t sure why. Her self-imposed isolation drove him
nuts, but the thought of her turning to someone else was
much worse. He wanted to shake her until she understood
how important she was. “You’re not better. I refuse to let
that asshole push you out when you were born to be a surgeon.
You can’t work at a matchmaking agency. It’s totally
beneath you.”
The softness disappeared and turned to fire. She practically
growled like a she-cat. “Who the heck are you to
judge me or Kinnections! Did you suddenly turn into a
snob, O playboy-turned-millionaire hotel magnate?”
Wolfe fought the instinctual urge to flush. “Don’t be ridiculous.
I’m just saying you were meant to save lives, not
make matches!”
She sniffed like it was a reasonable argument. “I disagree.
This may be my true calling after all. I’m tired of
stress and medicine and decisions that are life-and-death.
I’m going to have fun. Who knows? Maybe I’ll even find
real love.”
Irritation scraped him like a Brillo pad. “You’ll get
bored of this place in a week.”
She stuck out her tongue. Was she serious? “No, I
won’t. And I’m not quitting till I help make a great match
for someone. I need to be around magic and hope. Hey,
want to sign up? Kate says if I get clients on my own I get a
recruitment bonus.”
He stared at her. “Are you kidding me? No, I’m not
signing up for Kinnections. Listen, I’ll help you get transferred
to another hospital. I can make some calls—I know
some guy in Albany who’s high up the ladder. You can’t
leave your residency when you worked so hard. We’ll fix
this.”
“There’s nothing to fix. This is my job now and you’ll
have to get used to it.” The phone rang and she brightened.
“Gotta get that.”
Wolfe watched her run to the phone and lean over the
desk. The skirt stretched over her full rear, rode up her
thighs, and left her indecent. She wobbled a bit on threeinch
stilettos till she found her balance. For God’s sake, she
never wore heels. Had Kennedy gotten ahold of her? Why
was it so hot in here?
He dragged his fingers through his hair and listened to
her chirp about some upcoming mixer at the Purple Haze.
She gave a low little laugh that sounded suspiciously like a
giggle. Oh yeah. Kennedy had definitely done something
horrible to her. She hung up, wiggled back around, and
tugged down the indecent minuscule fabric that constituted
office wear. Even her perfume was different. The lingering
sweet scent of peach mixed with a sharp citrus and
musk that tantalized. Was she working here to find dates
for herself? No, that wouldn’t be like her at all. She used to
say she needed months to get over a relationship. A broken
engagement would take at least a year.
“Sure you don’t want to help me earn some more
money?” She gave him a wink. “You’d be a hot commodity
with the women.”
Ugh, he refused to be embarrassed. “No. I can get my
own dates.”
“Fine. At least I’ll get something for signing myself up.”
He opened his mouth, then shut it. Opened it again.
“What are you talking about?”
Gen grinned. “I’m going to be a new client of Kinnections!”
“You just broke up with David. You’re always bitching
about people needing months in between serious relationships
in order to heal. Remember that time I broke up with
Allie, and you made me cancel my date the next weekend?
You forced me to be celibate for two whole weeks!”
She rolled her eyes and cocked a hip out. The black top
shifted and he caught a fragment of lace peeking from her
shoulder. Huh? He had it on authority she only wore cotton
underwear. “You needed to suffer. You broke her heart.”
“I did not. She knew up front what the deal was.”
“It’s still wrong. Claiming there’s no strings doesn’t
mean things can’t change. She fell for you, and you walked
away without trying.”
This time he did flush. “I explain to every woman I’m
not interested in long-term—you know that. You always
praised me for being honest and up front.”
“Well, I’m changing my mind. I think it’s crappy. You
need to begin looking at the future. Why don’t we be clients
together? We can double date!”
Wolfe wondered if he had had something bad for
breakfast or if he really wanted to vomit. The image of
them at a dinner table with two strangers was painful. She
was giving him a headache.
“I’m happy the way things are. And I think the last
thing you need is another emotional upheaval with some
guy. Take a break from dating. Maybe you can learn a
hobby. Knitting?”
She glared. “Am I eighty years old? No, I need to get
my feet wet again. David almost broke something in me,
and I want it back.”
Crap. When she put it like that, he’d do anything to
help her. “Sweetheart, don’t you want to find healing within
yourself rather than from outside sources?”
Her eyes widened. “Wow. You’re getting really deep.
Usually, I’d agree with you, but I’m tired of feeling afraid
and unsure. I want to be brave and take a leap into the unknown.
Does that make sense?”
Yeah, it did. He didn’t understand why the thought of
her diving back into dating bothered him so much. Usually
they’d trade war stories and he’d help her get fixed up.
What suddenly changed? Crankiness stirred so he changed
the subject. “Why are you wearing that?”
“Huh? A skirt?”
“You hate fancy clothes. Did Kennedy try to do something
to you?”
She stared at him like he’d sprouted horns. “You’re acting
really weird, dude. Did you work too hard at the seminar?
How was it?”
“Fine.” He didn’t want to talk about work, or endless
meetings, or sales figures. “I think we should talk more
about this. How about we go to dinner tonight? I’ll pick
you up at seven.”
She crossed her arms in front of her chest. “As long as
you promise not to try and change my mind.”
“I can’t promise you that. But I’ll buy you a burger.”
Gen shook her head. “Fine. I’m easy. See you tonight.”
He watched her walk back to the desk and slide into
the chair, crossing her legs. The smooth expanse of white
skin blinded him for a moment. She always joked about
not having a drop of her Italian blood heritage since she
burned so easily and never tanned. But there was something
about all that gorgeous naked flesh, soft and pure,
that made his fingers curl to touch her.
Wolfe turned his back on her and his startling thoughts.
He needed a cold shower and a nap. Lately he was beginning
to wonder if the past three months of celibacy had
been such a smart move. The break seemed like a good
idea. He’d been tired of the delicate game of seduction
lately, and how fast his partners seemed to get attached. Almost
like they looked at him as a challenge to break down.
If only they’d realize there was nothing inside that
hadn’t already been broken.
Still, sex might take the edge off. The last thing he
needed was lustful thoughts over his best friend. She was
the only healthy relationship with a female he’d ever been
able to maintain. He refused to screw up the best thing that
ever happened to him due to a surge of testosterone.
Wolfe made the drive back to his place in Manhattan.
His penthouse apartment had tons of security, luxury, and
every amenity he could think of. The parquet floors and
high ceilings were elegant, but his furnishings were spartan
and masculine. Dark wood, glass, extensive computers and
media, and bare walls. He barely slept here, finding it more
convenient to stay at Purity, where he kept a tight rein on
things.
Wolfe took a quick shower, changed, and put on a pot
of coffee. Maybe he’d relax, watch a baseball game on television,
then get some more work done. All in all, it had
been a tough couple of days and he needed a break. Dinner
with Gen would put him in a better mood. They’d get
back to their usual buddy routine, and he’d begin working
on finding a new sex companion who had nothing to do
with Kinnections.
When the doorman buzzed and said a uniformed officer
needed to see him, Wolfe got a bad feeling.
He was handed the temporary restraining order on behalf
of a Dr. David Riscetti, who accused him of harassment
and a host of other sins.
His bad feeling was right on. As usual.
He glanced through the papers. Wolfe had to give the
son of a bitch credit. He was playing a chess game, and he
was a great player. Wolfe cared less about himself, as long
as David stayed away from Gen. Unfortunately, his spidey
senses were tingling again, as if he was missing a piece in
an elaborate puzzle being put together.
Yeah. All in all, it was a shitty day.

ARC REVIEW A Kiss for Lady Mary by Ella Quinn
The Marriage Game book 6 by Ella Quinn, A Kiss for Lady Mary is a good read. This is my second for the series and while the other characters are present and active in this story their own personal stories play no part in this one; for the exception of those wonderful meddling grandmas. They claim to have made the matches for all their children and most of their grandchildren, now it is Christopher "Kit" Featherton and Mary Tolliver's turn. One of the things I liked about this book is the fact that it is the sixth book into the series and I didn't feel lost. You get a feel for who the characters are and the method behind their madness or in this case of Kit and Mary their reservedness. I also enjoyed Mary and Kit, it was a nice change of pace from the domineering alpha male. Kit was a proper and reserved gentleman dubbed Mr. Perfect who has a knack for drawing out the wallflowers. Mary, of course, is a strong minded woman who will not settle for anything less than love but is so shy from her lack of exposure to the opposite sex she has no idea what to do.
Kit is picky, and very proper, he once saw a beautiful girl out in her first season but too shy to ask for an introduction and a dance. Kit has never been able to get this woman out of his head even three years later. Now as his family is pressuring him to marry he has finally decided to track down the elusive Lady Mary and properly court her. Lady Mary thoroughly enjoyed her first season but was cut short due to the death of her father. For the last three years Mary has been hiding from her cousin Gawain who has been pushing her to marry him and will stop at nothing to have her and her money. Mary's Grandmother hatches a plan to protect Mary until she is old enough to get her trust out of her Uncle's name.
For the last year Mary has lived with her Aunt Eunice in a house way out of the way and implying that she is the estranged wife of the landowner. With Gawain getting more persistent and Kit and Mary finally ready to meet again the Grandmothers do their thing. Kit finds out someone is living on one of his properties acting as his wife, angry he rushes up their only to find the one woman he has never been able to forget. Mary is embarrassed, scared and so honest she tells him everything. Kit quickly forgets his anger and starts trying to figure out how to woo her and marry her. Mary doesn't want to be trapped into marriage she wants another season and her own chance to find love.
So while Mary and Kit try and figure things out Aunt Eunice falls in love, friends from the past books come to visit to help work out a way to avoid scandal and give everyone what they want. The solution a season in Edinburgh. Kit knows he wants Mary he just has to convince her but they are so hesitant around each other they are sending mixed signals, but all the friends agree Kit needs a little competition to get the nerve to act on his feelings. Also while in Edinburgh ( I swear it's like a freakin' historical soap opera. Woman! you gave me heart palpitations with all this.) a lost love returns and claims the children he could not previously claim. The sub-plots are so enticing and enjoyable it makes up for the fact that the Gawain ending plot is short. I read through this quick and easy and I loved it, I really need to read the others I have missed.

ARC REVIEW Hot Alphas Anthology
Hot Alphas is a collection of novellas from some pretty hot erotica authors and well I liked half of it.
Erin's Kiss
I always used to read Lora Leigh and I think I just burned myself out on her, I don't enjoy reading her writing anymore. I thought maybe reading something new and not from her Breed series would be nice I couldn't get into it and quite honestly even though I just read it last week I don't remember it.
MisTaken
Laurelin McGee is new to me, I don't think I have ever read anything from her and what I did read did not impress me. I just could not like the characters; normally I like the overly opinionated and more then likely "Bitchy" female this one how ever is a judgey narrow minded twat that does a complete 180 at the flip of a switch. I can understand what the author was trying to do, to not to judge or assume a book solely on what you think when you haven't read anything from the genre. (Like what so many people did with 50 Shades of Grey). But I think this novella was ill fitting in for this anthology.
Burn for Me
Shiloh Walker I love, everything she has written is an immediate winner for me. This is a side story for the very emotional and dark series Secrets & Shadows, this takes place almost simultaneously as the first book in the series. Tate is and has always loved Ali, even if he didn't realize it and he has just kept Ali at a distance. Ali loves Tate and understands his past and his feelings but she can't take it anymore it hurts too much not to have all of him. Tate keeps her at arm's length because he fervently believes his father killed his mother and got away with it and because of that he is afraid he might snap and do the same. Ali is a hard working single mom and Tate is a tormented mechanic. Tate must come to terms or lose the woman of his dreams forever.
Tangled
Kate Douglas is another one I really like she has a fun and quirky way of writing. This novella is I believe a stand-alone story about Tangled Vineyards. Nate is probably one of the least "alpha" heros in this set but he is one of my favorite. Nate has a new job and he is looking forward to managing the vineyard he never expected to fall head over heals for the winemaker. Cassie is resentful that the new owner has hired a new manager but also thankful for saving the place after her father fell ill and almost ran the place to the ground. Cassie likes Nate but is hesitant about mixing business with pleasure. When Cassie's father's past rears it ugly head Nate proves himself beyond measure

In
Stacey Kennedy’s steamy paranormal romance novel, a rookie guardian sworn to
combat the undead risks life and love in a world of violence, witchcraft, and
seduction.
Nexi Jones has lost her family, she’s been stripped of her guardian duties, and she’s still learning the ins and outs of white magic. At least she has Kyden, the smoldering hot elite guardian who’s been there for her every step of the way. But just as Nexi completes her training, tragedy strikes the Otherworld when a fellow guardian is murdered by a group of rogue vampires. Ready or not, she and Kyden trek into the Earthworld to hunt down a killer—and Nexi alone will be put to the ultimate test.
Although Kyden knows that Nexi must fight her own battles, his guardian instincts are raging as he struggles to keep her close. The ruthlessness of these vampires is like nothing he’s ever seen. And at their helm is the Black Witch Astoria, a demon with one burning desire: to shed Nexi’s blood in the name of vengeance. What troubles Kyden even more, though, is the warlock who covets Nexi’s heart. Let the devil do his worst . . . all Kyden can do is love and protect Nexi until his last breath.

“Thank all that is holy,” Haven exclaimed the second she opened her front door. “You’re back.”
Standing outside of the modern-designed apartment, Nexi raised her brows at Haven’s unruly hair and her bloodshot eyes. Red-hot irritation rushed through their bond, sending Nexi spiraling into a dizzy spell. Not once had Nexi ever seen Haven so flustered—she’d always been a ball of sunshine.
Haven had been the first supernatural Nexi met in the Otherworld. She knew why the Council had set that up—their soul-bond had instantly brought comfort to Nexi, while Haven explained where Nexi was, that her adoptive mortal parents were dead, and that Nexi was actually a supernatural living in a mortal’s world. Now she couldn’t quite imagine her life without Haven. Their relationship wasn’t sisterly, it was similar to that of what twins experienced—but possibly even closer than that. A connection of hearts and souls. The second supernatural to visit Nexi on her first night in the Otherworld had been Drake, the guardian who gave her life, and who had been a complete stranger to her. Nexi wished she had spent more time getting to know him than the few months she had with him before he died during the fight with Lazarus. Yet life was what it was, and there was no sense hoping for a different outcome. Besides, she believed Drake felt that he finally helped avenge his wife, the mother that Nexi had never met. She ignored the pang in her heart, refusing to return to that dark place of sadness that was still so fresh, turning her attention back to her friend. “What in the world happened to you?” “Your damn cat hasn’t shut up,” a low, angry voice bit off. Haven opened the door farther, showing off her boyfriend and fellow guardian, Finn, sitting on the couch. The deep frown on his slender face was so unlike him that Nexi’s brows rose higher. In all the time she’d known him, he had never lost his cool—Finn was always the calm, collected one. Now his crystal-blue eyes reflected grave annoyance, and his jaw muscles were twitching. Nexi slid her glance to the kitten sitting on the armrest of the couch, staring and swatting at Finn. While she appreciated that apparently the kitty had been bothering him, and perhaps was driving him mad, she was also silent. “When did the meowing stop?” “The moment you knocked on the door.” He looked to the kitten with a viscous glare. “She’s here. Get out.” The kitten glanced to the doorway and Nexi swore the kitty smiled before jumping off the couch and trotting over. “Come on, how can you hate her?” Nexi said, grinning at the kitty. “She’s so stinkin’ cute.” “Easily,” Haven snipped, reaching for the kitten. “You weren’t here for the past hour, listening to her cry and whine for you.” Those trickles of annoyance increased through their bond as she shoved the kitten in Nexi’s arms. “Have fun with that one.” Haven began to shut the door, and Nexi called, “Wait. You need to tell me about her—”
The door slammed shut.
Sighing, Nexi looked down at the kitten and frowned. “You sure know how to makefriends. Guess you’re stuck with me, even if I have no idea what you are.” The kitten purred, rubbing her face into Nexi’s neck. She laughed, turning away fromHaven and Finn’s apartment and strode along the hallway in the Witches’ House, located in the west side of the Otherworld’s castle. Each species had its special place in the medieval castle, or at least that’s what it resembled. From what she’d learned, the castle had been built sometime in the 1700s after the two worlds merged and made the treaty. The need for the Council meant they needed a headquarters, and no one had renovated it since. Nexi didn’t mind so much; she thought the castle had charm, and it reminded her of old Scotland—which she learned was where the leaders of Earthborn supernaturals were located back in the 1700s. While Nexi could stay in either the Witches’ House or Guardians’ House, because she was technically both, she had gravitated to the Guardians’ House, since she had trained as a guardian first. But she appreciated her witch magic just as much. As a Spirit Witch, she was blessed with all four elements: Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. All other witches other than Sprit Witches gained one element, like Haven, who exceled in the Earth element. Through the training over the few months, Nexi had mastered Air and Fire, and she had the feeling the other two elements were pretty much of no use to her. Or they hadn’t been so far. The witches in the Otherworld coven had told her through training that some Spirit Witches gained all the elements in the beginning, and when the stronger elements developed, the others eventually faded away. Lucky for her, the elements she did possess—conjuring Air and Fire without touch—were seriously kick-ass. Holding the kitten in her arms and continuing on down the hallway, she passed a couple witches who strode along the hallway. One smiled. The other looked at Nexi with something close to disdain, but Nexi let it roll off her back. She supposed she understood—she was different from the other witches, being of two races, and she’d discovered that while most accepted her, some of the older generation didn’t. She wasn’t normal, but she couldn’t please everyone—and she didn’t try to.

They’ve got something he wants.
INFAMOUS BACHELOR and SELF-MADE BILLIONAIRE ROEN DORAN IS A BASTARD. Yes, he knows it. And no, he doesn’t care. He’s got money and power, and he depends on no one. But when his estranged father dies, willing him a secret island, Roen will come face to face with an even bigger secret: its occupants. And these savage, sea-obsessed warriors are quick to make their position clear: Leave now or die.
There’s only one problem. Nobody tells Roen what to do. Ever. Oh, and one other thing. He’s just met the island’s other new “guest” and something about her brings out his possessive side.
SOLE SHIPWRECK SURVIVOR LIV STRATTON had been adrift at sea for ten grueling days when salvation miraculously appeared: an uncharted island. Only, the deceivingly beautiful men who live there aren’t interested in saving her. No, not at all. Because they somehow believe she is their property, a gift from the ocean to do with as they please. This is not good.
Her only hope? Billionaire Roen Doran, of all people. A man who’s said to care for nothing and no one. But if he’s so heartless, then why is he about to risk everything to help her?
Q&A with Mimi Jean
-How did you come up with the idea of Mermen?
I love stories where the unlovable or revolting are turned into something we all can’t help but fall in love with. Example: Who didn’t love Warm Bodies? The dude is a zombie and eats brains, but most of us were probably loving him from the first moment.
And when I wrote the ACCIDENTAL SERIES, I was kind of going after the same thing. Mayan gods are NOT sexy. They just aren’t. But creating a world where that just wasn’t true was so much fun. And my gods aren’t just sexy, they make you laugh.
Anyway, when I decided to tackle another similar “taboo,” I wanted something that would really, really push me. So I chose a species I find hard to get turned on by.
Half-fish men can be pretty, but they’re not sexy! (For me, anyway.) But that was part of the fun! Reinventing the entire folklore surrounding mermen and mermaids and turning it into something that would turn the mermen-haters into mermen-lovers.
-What did Cimil think about all these Merman?
She’d want to make them all her personal pets and spank them.
-Will there be any crossover between the Accidentally Yours characters in the Mermen series? Will there be any invisible unicorns?
LOL. I hadn’t thought about that, but now that you mention it, I could see some of the Mermen jumping over to Immortal Matchmakers (my ACCIDENTALLY YOURS spinoff), looking to Cimil and her unicorn for a little help in the love department.
CAUTION: These are not your average fairy tale, fantasy,
Barbie, kids cartoon mermen! They are mean, they are vicious, and they are
absolute bastards. Also it ends in a cliffhanger, typical Mimi Jean Pamfiloff
fashion. Unlike some of her other book this book is strictly in the third
person and I love that; and like her other books it’s weird and I love weird. I
loved the premise of the book a protected island in the middle of the ocean
it’s only inhabitants gorgeous men unfortunately all of them are massive
a-holes. So you are thinking to
yourselves… Mermen? Yes. Do they have tales? No the evolved past the point of
needing them. They are also stronger, faster, can breathe underwater, and of
course swim like they are part fish, which they are not they are genetic
cousins to us land lovers. Think along the lines of Mermen are to Human as
Tigers are to Kittens. Liv is an awesome character she is strong and not
willing to give up even when it comes to Roen. Now Roen, he is a bastard but
despite it all your heart goes out to him because the situation he finds
himself forced into. The chemistry between the two is outstanding and at one
point makes you want to strangle someone; more specifically Roen.
The book starts off
with Liv in a life raft; she was on a fishing boat doing interviews for her
dissertation when a freak storm comes and sinks the boat and she is the only
survivor. She has been floating around for over a week she thinks she is
hallucinating when she sees an island, she really thinks she’s hallucinating
when she sees a very large very naked man swim out of the water on to the beach
and she knows she is not hallucinating when a shark starts circling her raft.
At first she thinks the man is a savior but it soon becomes obvious that is not
the case.
Roen is a self made billionaire, he hates the water and the
only way to conquer anything is to master it hence the shipping company. He was
raised by a mother running from his psychopathic father an eco-terrorist and
all around A-Hole and Roen wants nothing to do with him but fate intervenes and
lands his father’s will in his lap. The will includes the coordinates to
nowhere, well nothing that’s on the map. When Roen gets there his helicopter
crashes and his phone won’t work. He saves Liv from a half naked man trying to
drown her.
Whatever you do... don’t drink the water! Roen immediately
feels a pull to Liv and a possessive need to claim her; even when he knows he
normally wouldn’t do these things he doing them for Liv. That’s not the only
thing he is becoming one more and more like these Mermen and maybe the only way
to save Liv from them is to come one of them.
I love Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and even though this ends in a
cliffhanger book two, MerMadMen, is already available!

ARC REVIEW: SEAL Team Six Hunt the Fox by Don Mann and Ralph Pezzullo
Book Five of Seal Team Six. Thomas Crocker is back and in a race against time and the terrorist known as the Fox. Unlike the other books this one wasn't as high intensity and edge of your seat. Was it good? Hell yes, just not quite as good as the last book. Don Mann and Ralph Pezzullo as always bring you into the SEAL Team Six team takes you on a wild ride with the emotional side that humanizes the soldiers and gives an insight on to why Tom makes the decisions he does.
Months after the incident in Mexico, Tom and the rest of his team are ready to jump back in and get back to work. Their first mission is a doozy. They have received pictures of sarin canisters being kept in Syria they must now extract without the knowledge of ISIS or the FSA. But it all goes a little too smoothly aside from having to take a detour and taking on extra passengers, refugees from the Syrian civil war and Tom having to help a woman give birth. Once they get to safety the sarin goes missing along with the contact who leads them to the sarin. Not willing to walk away from the FUBAR situation Tom and his team help the local government try and track down the sarin but it soon pops up as the terrorist hijacked a Disney cruise liner.
All the while Tom deals with saving the day with his team he tries to deal with personal problems of his wife being fed up with being married to a Navy SEAL. During the whole book Tom goes back and remembers time with his wife the first time they met and when he fell in love to more recent ones of them meeting with a therapist, and in the end he knows what he should do. He is also still dealing with the traumatic last mission.
This is a must read for followers of the series it's not to be missed. It's not good as the last book but by no means bad, it was riveting and intense it's what I expect from a SEAL Team Six series.

ARC REVIEW Kilts and Daggers by Victoria Roberts
Book two of Victoria Roberts' Highland Spies series, Kilts and Daggers was a great read, the only that kept it from being a five star was Grace, she was kind of annoying at times but she is an eighteen year old naive girl who thinks she knows it all. Fagan Murray is a stubborn headed sexy scot, who can't resist the haughty Grace even when she is insulting him at every turn. Grace doesn't want to like Fagan, she is engaged to a proper English Gentleman and she doesn't even like Scotland; none the less Fagan catches her eye and her heart but she keeps herself emotionally at a distance by putting him down.
It does start off slow with the wedding of Ravenna her sister, the protagonist for book one of the series My Highland Spy. Spending two months in the highlands spending time with her sisters before returning to London and eventually her own wedding. In the two months she spends with in the highlands she finds herself growing close to Fagan. Fagan loves her but doesn't think he is good enough for her so try as he may he tries his best to keep her at arm's length. When it comes time to escort her back to England they can't hold back any longer. Something hinky has been going on twice previously bandits have tried to kidnap Grace and on the journey to England they finally succeed.
With more political hogwash and spy versus spy Grace and Fagan get caught in the middle of and the truth about a certain someone close to Grace is finally exposed and changes everything. This was a great book I loved the verbal sparring between Fagan and Grace and the immediate protectiveness he feels for her. I can't wait for more and with two more sisters that are unique and charming as Ravenna and Grace I look forward to their stories.

REVIEW & EXERPT TOUR: ADORED by Lexi Blake
We are so excited to bring you the Blog Tour for Lexi Blake's ADORED! ADORED is a Contemporary Erotic Romance novella in Lexi's Masters and Mercenaries Series! Check it out below and grab your copy today!!
Amazon US Kindle ** Amazon Paperback ** Amazon UK Kindle
ADORED Synopsis:
A man who gave up on love
Mitch Bradford is an intimidating man. In his professional life, he has a reputation for demolishing his opponents in the courtroom. At the exclusive BDSM club Sanctum, he prefers disciplining pretty submissives with no strings attached. In his line of work, there’s no time for a healthy relationship. After a few failed attempts, he knows he’s not good for any woman—especially not his best friend’s sister.
A woman who always gets what she wants
Laurel Daley knows what she wants, and her sights are set on Mitch. He’s smart and sexy, and it doesn’t matter that he’s a few years older and has a couple of bitter ex-wives. Watching him in action at work and at play, she knows he just needs a little polish to make some woman the perfect lover. She intends to be that woman, but first she has to show him how good it could be.
A killer lurking in the shadows
When an unexpected turn of events throws the two together, Mitch and Laurel are confronted with the perfect opportunity to explore their mutual desire. Night after night of being close breaks down Mitch’s defenses. The more he sees of Laurel, the more he knows he wants her. Unfortunately, someone else has their eyes on Laurel and they have murder in mind.
I really don't know what to say. At times I loved this book and others it grated my nerves. I think my biggest problem is Laurel, she did certain things that made me want to smack her. Mitch knows she is being manipulative and does nothing about it until the sh*t hits the fan and it all comes out. It's not the horrible kind of manipulation just little things that pissed me off. She worries so much about not being the perfect submissive for him but goes and does stuff he told her not to do, but then he does too. Their insecurities are what plays them against each other in the story. Aside from their relationship which is the majority of the book (yes d'uh it is a romance) the suspense of it was few and far between I wish it had more. I loved the suspense part and I loved the interplay between the siblings, I liked everyone else in the story except Laurel. She does have some good points but I can't remember what they are. Ohhhh! She is intelligent and witty. I like Lexi Blake's writing style I almost wish I had read one of her full length novels instead I love what she does the dialogue and she is knowledgeable of BDSM play and lifestyle; but this one over played the romance and BDSM and underplayed the suspense. My dislike of Laurel aside because that's just me I would recommend this book to read.
“I take it you found out about me joining the trainee
program at Sanctum.”
“I don’t think it’s a good idea. I don’t think it’s
professional for the two of us to be at the same club together. I count on that
club, Laurel. The few friends I have in life are there.”
“All right. I’ll let them know I won’t be coming anymore.”
She took a deep breath and there was a hollowness to her expression he
despised. It was only there for a moment and then her face was a polite blank.
“Do you need anything? Coffee? You skipped lunch. I could get you a sandwich.”
“Just like that? You’ll leave it like that? I expected more
of a fight out of you.”
She shook her head. “I didn’t join to cause you harm or to
take something away from you. I joined because I wanted to explore that side of
myself. Since you’ve made it plain that my presence takes away from your
enjoyment of something you need, I’ll leave.”
How did she do this to him? She’d had him in knots since the
moment he’d met her. “Could you give me a couple of minutes to catch up? I
didn’t even know you were interested in the lifestyle.”
Now her inner brat made an appearance, those pretty blue
eyes rolling. “Of course you did, Mitchell. That’s a complete cop out and
unworthy of you, counselor. If you’re going to defend yourself at least do it
properly. You’ve known I was interested in D/s since the moment you hired me.”

ARC REVIEW Special Delivery by Laura Browning
Special Delivery by Laura Browning should have been released five months ago and been named Christmas Angels. Sadly this book just didn't do it for me. It was fine it was well written and the story was good, but there was so much of the story I wished was different. The blurb makes you think it is solely about Holly and Jake but it's not, simultaneously and not as a sub plot is Jenny and Evans story. It was as if it were two books in one with the common factor of Holly because without Holly none of it would have happened. Things happened fairly quickly and I wish they hadn't; with both stories when the change happened it was a complete almost instant 180 change. I know you could probably argue that Jenny and Evan's change could have and should have been that instantaneous, I just didn't like it. I did like the characters they are very likeable and I liked the conflict but that's about it.
Holly is very pregnant, unfortunately the father of her unborn baby has proved himself to be a crazy bastard he has repeatedly threatened her and her little brother, Tyler. Spencer at first would not acknowledge the baby as his but when his fiance, the woman his parents picked for him, tells him she can never have kids he decides that Holly's baby will fill in just fine and will do anything to take that baby from Holly. Holly knowing something bad is going to happen packs up her brother in the car and leaves driving to nowhere in general just getting herself as far away from Spence as possible. Luck is on her side Tyler and Holly find themselves at a little valley nestled in the mountains that seems pleasant enough and small enough to safely hide.
Jake Allred is ready to settle down, he wants a wife and kids he already has the big house just waiting for the perfect woman to spend the rest of his life with and then he meet Holly. Not even her obvious distrust for him deters him from making friends with Tyler and firmly situating himself into her life and when she goes into early labor and he delivers a beautiful baby girl during a snowstorm with no electricity Holly finally admits she wants him as much as he wants her.
Meanwhile Jenny and Evan are Jake's best friends and they use to date but something happened in the past that tore them apart. The horrible truth finally comes out and mends the rift between them. Evan as a lawyer can not let the past goes he must do something about it even if that means tearing his family apart and a couple of town officials.
The situation with Spence finally comes to a climatic conclusion. It paid off in the end it had a good ending but certain parts were cheesy in an eighties sitcom way.

ARC REVIEW Ryder: Bird of Prey by Nick Pengelley
Book Three in the Ayesha Ryder series. Ryder Bird of Prey is about the search of the Maltese Falcon and the lost sword of King Harold II. Requesting this book from Netgalley was a mistake I thought I could just jump in and start off at book three. I miss some character development and background. I didn't much care for the characters it's an uneven blend of Lara Croft, Indiana Jones and James Bond. I think the saving grace for this book was the action.
On the search for the maltese falcon Ayesha and mysterious librarian Joram Tate. When they find it it leads them on another chase for the lost sword of King Harold II. Which they must find before the British Prime Minister is usurped and the replacement who plans to break the United Kingdom apart. It's a twisty and turny story with lots a back stories that throws me off because just about every chapter begins with a dream or a flashback and I don't know it it was just the ARC formating but it was difficult to tell the difference from them when it starts and ends. The endings so called twist just made me roll my eyes.
I had a hard time just getting through this book. What caught my eye was the comparison to James Rollins, and I am a big fan of James Rollins, but no I would not compare this to James Rollins. The old Indiana Jones novels maybe but not Rollins. This book leaves an opening for book four but I think I'll pass.

ARC REVIEW Her Wild Hero by Paige Tyler
Book three of Paige Tyler's X-OPS series, Her Wild Hero is a continuing story arc. It is not pertinent that you read the first two, it's helpful I think just for background information on the arc and some character info but everything you need to know is very well placed. I love shifter books especially when they are secondary to the storyline. I loved this story it's almost non-stop action. Great characters Declan and Kendra along with the other members of the X-Ops team are fantastic to follow on this hectic adventure. Paige Tyler really has made a fan of me.
Kendra Carlsen after the events previously has been itching to get out into the field. Finally she is getting the chance it is just suppose to be a training exercise but still getting out in the field with a team is better than nothing.
Declan MacBride is a bear shifter and he really doesn't like it, he keeps that side of him closed off as much as possible because he is scared of the monster he might become. Being with Covert Ops is his only outlet for his bear self.
SNAFU! Of epic proportions. A week in the Costa Rican rain forest, it's a training op they said, it'll be easy they said, it's field experience they said. They always say but it never is. Declan feels that something is wrong, he knows someone is following them they never expected it to be the vicious hybrid shifters. The group gets separated and Declan is charged with one task Keep Kendra Alive, not that he has to be told to do that he has been crushing on her for the last eight years and just when he thought he was finally over her they get caught in this shit storm. Kendra isn't a pushover she can hold her own just fine. Together Declan and Kendra hide and fight off the hybrids alone. Kendra realizes along the way that everything she has been looking for in a guy is embodied in Declan. But with Declan's past and his own personal demons can they survive this.
LOVE LOVE LOVE will read previous ones and all future ones!

RELEASE DAY LAUNCH The Gentleman Mentor by Kendall Ryan
He calls himself the Gentleman Mentor.
Just reading his ad
makes me feel more alive than I have in years.
He promises to teach
me the art of seduction … and show me the most sinfully erotic pleasures. He’s
going to help me become the kind of confident, sexy woman men can’t ignore.
Six lessons … with the
most gorgeous man … who happens to be a Dom.
The only problem … now
that I’ve experienced his brand of delectable domination will anyone else ever
compare?
She’s a client. That’s all.
Or it should be.
But with every lesson,
she’s becoming more.
The secrets I’m hiding
behind the image of the Gentleman Mentor make telling her the truth—and having
anything real—impossible.
I’m training her for
another man, and that fact guts me every time I think of it.
I know she’s not mine
… but part of me won’t accept that.
Am I willing to risk
it all to keep her?
THE GENTLEMAN MENTOR is a full-length standalone novel.
I take a minute to survey her. She’s petite, just like I imagined her. Brunette. Big blue eyes whose gaze drifts between mine and the floor as if she doesn’t know where to look. There must be some goddamn mistake, because there’s no way she’d need any help attracting a man. But if it’s my help she wants, I won’t refuse her.
“May I?” I ask, pulling out the seat next to her and moving toward it. She’s timid, and I need to remember my manners.
“Please,” she says. “I’m Brielle.”
“No names.”
“Everyone calls me Brie, though.” She twists her hands in her lap.
“Sweetheart?” I say, and her gaze darts up to mine. “I said no names.”
“Oh. I’m sorry.” She swallows down her nerves. “But what should I call you?”
“You may call me Dom.”
Our gazes connect, and a flash of desire pools low in my spine. Fucking hell. This should be interesting.
